Is it wrong to have cracked software.
I am a student and my parents obviously don't have enough money to pay my software. I need the Microsoft 365 Office packet . There are free versions of it but its actually not good enough , they are not the full versions . I also like to edit Photos at Adobe Photoshop . Also don't have enough money to buy it .
My question is - Is it wrong to have cracked software as a student . At this time I am unable to pay the license . I want to be better at this stuff , but that I am unable to progress because of that . Is it wrong ?

I hate to say it but yes it is wrong. It’s illegal and basically it’s stealing. I think you should try to find a way to pay for these programs. Can’t you get a part time job?

What time do you get out of school? Have you tried to get a job in the evening? I mean if your 16 years old then I would expect that your probably out of school by 4-5pm right?

I love going to the gym it is my passion . I wake up at 7 , 7:30 . Eat my meal and going for the bus at 9:30 . Training to like 12:30 , going home , showering and going to School at 13 : 15 to 19:15 . So there isn't enough time for work...

It's a conscience issue. I used to get cracked software but I became uncomfortable with it. Ask God to provide it. He's promised to meet our needs, if we will walk in His ways. Another problem with cracked software is how often it is laced with trojans and viruses.

Well you’ll have to decide which is more important, going to the gym or honoring God’s commandments.

I use Office365 and I rather like it. But aren't there freeware alternatives out there that basically do the same thing as Office?

Anyway. To answer your question, I do not see how using cracked software could possibly not be a sin. It is stealing, in a sense. Stealing bread in a time of desperation is one thing but I'm not sure your current circumstances rise to that level.

In general stealing is wrong, though I have a hard time feeling sorry for the likes of MS and Adobe. Why do you need the full monte here? Why aren't Libreoffice, or WPS, or FreeOffice; or GIMP, or inkspot, or Krita, good enough for your needs? I use them here on Linux, everything is free and works great.

If you ask around, people often have the 5 install plan and don't use all five. I think I have 2 I don't use. You can be an active problem solver without stealing. Also, you can buy the five install plan and sell the other 4 installs to fellow students and possibly make money each year. A good student is a problem solver, and works legally. Using illegal software is not good for your internal resume. And OpenOffice works fine.

No, it's not right. There are academic discounts that you can use. That's what I had to do, that and make heavy use of the computer labs. Besides, it's not even smart - you could be getting viruses or malware along with the cracked software.

Also, is it the software itself that you are required to learn, or is the software simply necessary to output the documents that you have to turn in? There are legitimate, free alternatives that you may be able to use. For instance, I have not used MS Office in years because LibreOffice meets my needs. I can save .docx or .xlsx files with it if I choose to.

I grew up in a small town,I was always busy I was always having fun but I learned one very important thing if you want money if you want stuff for yourself you have to go and work. During the winter I shovel people's driveways and sidewalks, during the summer I mowed yards during the fall i raked leaves. My momlet me use her lawnmower and her shovels and stuff until I made up enough money to get my own which took about a month I started in the summer, now did that take away from sports and video games yes but what I did was during the school year Saturdays were for work. During the summer I generally work Monday through Thursday I walked all over my town asking people if they wanted their yards mowed or weeds pulled. I went to churches and asked if they could do anything to earn some money they had me mop their gym, help clean out gutters.


Let's keep it simple, I'm assuming you go to church. I would go to my past and say I need work can I sweep mow your yard clean the kitchen at the church do anything see if he'd be willing to give you some work....I went to many churches as a child and everyone I went to was willing to put me to work. Don't think about what you can't do think about what to do.
