Is a person sinning, if they don't have romantic love for the person they are married to?
1 Samuel 25:3
His name was Nabal, and his wife’s name was Abigail. She was an intelligent and beautiful woman, but her husband, a Calebite, was harsh and evil in his dealings.
The Bible does not say Abigale did not love her husband, but she certainly did not love his ways.
She said, "My lord should pay no attention to this scoundrel Nabal, for he lives up to his name: His name means Fool, and folly accompanies him. I, your servant, did not see my lord’s young men whom you sent." 1 Samuel 25:25
Abigale however, remained submissive to her husband. She put up with him in agape love. 1 Samuel 25:36, 37; Colossians 3:13
Agape, is stronger than eros, and is the love that allows a person to love a person one may not be attracted to.
So, while a person may not be in love with another (eros), agape love can keep them united in love, and prevent them from sinning against God, by being unloving, unkind, and selfish. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love... bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
