Disease:

2% of U.S. population is homosexual yet it accounts for 61% of HIV infection: "Men who have sex with men [MSM] remain the group most heavily affected by new HIV infections. If you are concerned about the healthcare issue and costs associate with it, there are far more concerning issues driven by human behavior:

-cigarette smoking
-sedentary lifesyles
-Obesity, which has risen dramatically

These three issues above, are primary risk factors for a disease that kills over 500 thousand people a year (heart disease) and also increase the risk for diabetes, which is a debilitating disease.

From a Christian standpoint any sin is harmful to society, but since homosexuality is the highlight of the last couple years lets keep ignoring the 800 pound gorilla in the room. I personally do not believe in the idea that there is a sin that harms only the person doing it. The fact you are pointing out how much money it costs should lead you to what that 800 pound gorilla could possibly be.

For some reason posts like this never talk about the higher statistical costs of heterosexual-based STIs compared to the lower infection rates in lesbians and conclude that heterosexuals are harmful to society. Seems like the logical conclusion if you actually believe this line of thinking. It is almost as if the people posting arguments like this don't actually believe them or something...

I'm hesitant to respond to any of the statistics, directly, since I don't know anything about the source,* but coming from the other side, rejection is frequently a contributor to depression and suicide.

* A cursory look at CARM makes it seem as though they are apologists, and I would prefer to rely on numbers that come from organizations like Gallup or Pew that specialize in gathering statistics.

World wide, 70% of HIV infection is in sub-Saharan Africa. Unlike the OP, I will give a source for this quote:

The vast majority of people living with HIV are in low- and middle-income countries. According to WHO, sub-Saharan Africa is the most affected region, with 25.8 million people living with HIV in 2014. Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for almost 70 percent of the global total of new HIV infections.

I've noticed people who want it to seem like gay men are primarily responsible for the spread of HIV only look at US statistics. Look at the entire world and see where HIV is getting spread.

A survey in 2012 found that HIV prevalence among women was nearly twice as high as men.

According to that source, IV drug use and prostitution are spreading HIV in Africa moreso than gay men.

The answer to the OP's question is "No."

I agree, however it mentions only 2% of Americans are homosexual. So yes I would assume the heterosexual percentage is high but that would only be because there are a lot more heterosexuals compaired to homosexuals.
