Is Gensis 1-11 Parable or not God's word at all? (Theistic evolutionists only)

I only care for other evolutionary creationists to give answers. Is Genesis 1-11 a parable or not canonical at all?
Many atheists say that Genesis 1-11 cannot be parable because it mentions people's names and events surrounding them. The parable of the Good Samaritan also reads like a historical account, but it's just a parable. I've also heard that Jonah may also be parable. If the entire book of Jonah, which includes actual historical locations such a Nineveh, a parable then I don't see why the stories of Adam and Noah cannot be parables as well.

I think the testimony about the Good Samaritan may have been an account of an actual event Jesus used to teach the proper practice of the commandment to love your neighbor as yourself (Leviticus 19:18). The names of the people involved are not important.

God has mighty creative powers and knows much more than I, yet I cannot confirm God created the world in six days. I sat through geology lectures where I saw and heard evidence for a much longer creation timescale. Vineyard tenders can graft vines. Bio-engineers can graft gene sequences. It is beyond the ability of the human mind to create an acorn.

Genesis has names of people who were supposed to have lived thousands of years before the first rudimentary form of writing was invented about 5000 years ago when people started scratching symbols on pottery storage jars to record the contents of the jars. I could not believe an oral history was kept alive without corruption for thousands of years. Some people change their stories frequently. Most of us cannot trace our genealogy a thousand years, even with writing and historical records possible.
