  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

there seems to me to be alot of love in creation but im not so sure reality today reflects it, just see what artists create today! is it pointless. I dont like much modern art like reality tv for example & film is full of violence. can we learn anything from our art today thats any use & why do we love it so. what do you think, have you seen any good art lately, what do you think?

modern art starts from manet and ends today and continues tomorrow and our todays become the history of the art movements that are yet to come -- the writers of history are the lablers of what we do today.

if you want to understand, start from manet's music in the tuilleries, olympia, then onto impressionism with monet and company, then continue through the decades until after WW1. what you'll be looking for isn't content necessarily, but the techniques and why they were employed -- because from neo-classicism to impressionism, there's a significant leap in the type of detail used. look at Dada-ism, which is really the start of the modern art age as we know and hate/love it today. social critiquing of the world and of the art world and the reactionaries were the vanguard of thinking. there's more than a pretty image. there are thoughts and ideas that challenge us to think beyond what we see. not all art is meant to be hung on a wall.

it's not like i'm getting an art degree or anything.

a famous ;) poet :D said - "art is a glimpse if God's artisty; His creation. He shared with us a gift of a small amount of his passion of art".

people truelly forget, do not understand, deny, and abuise this gift. but we can rejoice and bring Him pleasure if we choose to.

I see a huge difference between artists that love God, and those who don't, or at least those who appreciate His creation. Art in itself is something to appreciate, but also is a way to express how one views the real world.

Art is a means of expression. Expression could mean anything under the sun, or even over or around it, so it shouldn't be limited to love. The only important aspect of it that means most to me is that it should be original or somehow creative. If it's original and creative, then it's refreshing and interesting.

The only thing that really bothers me is how you can call an orange stripe on a canvas a piece of art. The abstract stuff isn't really that expressive. It looks about as generic as something on a wallpaper.

until an artist comes to know God (& even after) is his or her work more often than not an expression of past pain they have experienced or a response (in competiton) to the work of fellow artists (Ecclesiastes 4 v 4)?

art deffinately is many exspressions. as a christian i have done sad art... but i prefer joy and things that make you think and beauty. sad stuff isn't a sin, it's just a piece of life put into exspression.

if the artis is judge then that would not be fair is it? the people with the power seem to think people want violence & I for one dont want to watch that. are we not creating fears rather than love or something nice, it effects people who veiw it but I would not agree with cencorship as such as it is a chalange to some or is that what it is about, anoying people, I dont agree with that. reality tv is so sleezy it does not reflect christianity very well & is copyied by some people just for greed of money or atension seeking.
