I dunno, she could be bisexual. She could still be gay. She could be straight after having been gay/bisexual (I see sexuality as non-static). She could have been experimenting with her sexuality. Or perhaps she was never gay to begin with and was only with Ellen for the media attention.

The latter is what I had always thought myself. Even when she was dating Ellen, she didn't seem to be actually interested in Ellen and I remember thinking "she so isn't gay". SNL did a good skit on that a while back:

Anne: "I saw Ellen across the room and that's when I decided I was a lesbodian"
Ellen: "Lesbian, dear"
Anne: "whatever"

Despite the relative publicity of Anne Heche's life, it really isn't anybody's blinkered business which way her sexual compass points.

In any case, why ask here? The person to ask would be Ms. Heche herself, and frankly I'd find it extremely rude and invasive if someone I didn't know well were to ask me about my sexuality like that.

Definition of gay is....

oh--a person with an intrinsic attraction to members of the same sex, usually manifesting in early childhood, and following the normal progression of emotional and sexual development. Sometimes repressed and not openly recognized or discovered until later in life.

Determining whether a given person meets the definition is much more difficult.

I've got a reverse definition question... I've got the definition I just can't think of the word that it goes to.

What do you call someone who is possessed of an all-consuming obsession over what homosexuals do in the privacy of their bedrooms?

EDIT: and to answer the original question - Definitely maybe.

Repressed? And desperately trying to justify himself before a God that already loves him in spite of the "flaws" he thinks makes him unloveable in God's eyes? Yeah we've all thought that. And it is true...he's gay.

I don't know... I just don't understand the motivation.

All I can say for sure is that I'm heterosexual and I don't find myself obsessing about what two men or two women might be doing in their bedroom.

It's kind of like the ex-gay I used to debate against on a different forum. He thought every image of a guy without a shirt on was pornographic - particularly if the picture only showed him from above the waist. "Clearly this man is completely naked." What? Who's seeing that except people who want to see that? I don't look at a topless guy and immediately leap to imagining his naughty bits.

But then again, I'm straight and he's "ex-gay". So big surprise, I questioned just how "ex" his "gay" was, precisely.
