• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

 Okay let me tell you how introverted that i am. MOST people I do not say hello to them first I wait to see if they say hello to me first. Lets take my boss's wife for an example she is SO rude some days and others she is VERY VERY VERY sunny, ya know HAPPY. ANYWAY those who I find EASY GOING I ALMOST always say hello to them first with a HUGE smile.

Tell me about you,.... ARE you that introverted?

I don't know if I am more introverted or extroverted . I guess it depends but by no stretch of the imagination I am NOT a big mouth.I understand how you feel peacelily, with certain people I tend to see if they say Hello to me first then if they do indeed say Hello then I say Hello back. Those people are don't really trust like you mentioned the ones you have to predict as if you are a meteorologist yourself,lol^_^ . That is so unfortunate that your boss' wife is like that. I like it when people are pretty much have the same happy attitude but if they are upset about something they are still cordial and not rude.
I am alot like you peacelily that people who are carefree I almost always say Hello first with a Gigantic smile on my face.

Generally speaking I am introverted but don't see that as a negative thing. I think introverts are more likely to do the right things for the right reason, because we have thought it through..We generally don't act on impulse or emotion..

On some occasions I can be talkative, etc. and when the evening is over, I go back to my more introverted self! So yes, I can "come out" sometimes. LOL Constantly talking or feeling I have to is not in my nature.

I am very introverted and don't like walking up to someone I don't know. The real twist is that I am a teacher and have no problems standing in front of thirty teenagers and speaking to them. I guess it is an authority thing, in that it is what is expected of me so I can do it.

For me it depends on what mood I'm in. I can generally make small talk cause it's so mechanical and meanlingless. Any job that requires public relations can help with that.

So if I'm up for shooting the bull, sure I can say hi and maybe jsut leave it at that.

Sometimes I could be stuck in a small room with someone for 2 hours and have no desire to acknowledge them.

Crowds are my problem. and social settings, such as parties/dinners.

Sometimes I'll want to talk to someone and...I think the human race was meant to be closer than it is. Cause you can talk to someone in such a short amount of time and reach out and touch their soul and it's beautiful. I think that's what being human is all about.

With me I guess it depends who it is, this depends on age, relationship etc

Mostly I say hello when they other person looks like they saw me and about to open their mouth, but sometimes that leads to a muddle "Hello" from me and a "How are you going?" from the other person!

I do tend to think it over if it's worth me saying hello to them, not in a bad way but if they look like they are having a bad day, I'll leave it.

I used to be that introverted. And then I worked in sales for a few years and that really brought me out of my shell... being forced to talk to strangers all day. I would still say I am introverted but I'm not scared to speak to people like I once was. I'm still a little shy in a crowd though. But I don't see anything wrong with being introverted as long as it doesn't negatively affect you... the way it did when I was actually afraid to speak to people.
