I haven't posted in a while and I see some new faces, so I wanted to re-introduce myself.

I'm Lainie and I am a traditional Seventh Day Adventist. I live in Arkansas. I'm happily married with two boys. My husband and I were baptized on December 24th, 2004.

I look forward to getting to know my fellow traditional Adventists! :amen:

God bless!

Good to meet you folks!

I already put my intro in the main forum, but anyway,

I am a pastor, traditional SDA, with an occassional odd idea :)

Glad we are getting more people here now that the forum fights are (hopefully) over.

Well that is something that I have just learnt, tall73 is a pastor.

That is good to know.

Well everyone knows me here.

I am traditional SDA. Now that does not mean I believe I can work my way to heaven. I believe in the Trinity, SOP/EGW, 27/28 and I guess that says it all.

My name is Jackie and I'm a traditional Seventh-day Adventist. A baby really, as I've only been a member of the church since April of 2005. It was the best decision of my life...I've never been happier.

I will be 51 years old in November, and am awaiting the birth of my first grandchild who is due to arrive in February.

No matter how old we get, we hear of newfangled ideas, and we can even be taught newfangled notions. I am attending (simply out of curiosity and wanting to be on the same page with the parents) a parenting class at church called GROWING KIDS GOD'S WAY. I've only been to one class and I tell you it's FASCINATING. What was weird is the first chapter deals with how the marital relationship is PRIORITY always, that children are an expansion of the family, not the center of it, I realized that that is exactly how my parents raised me and I raised mine!! It's nice to know when you did something right, even if you took some flack for it at the time... Anyway, I highly recommend the course.

Genesis tells the story of the "family" as God intended it. Something to think about...God created man, and decided man needed a companion "suitable", and so He took a PIECE OF ADAM, and made woman. If children were on the same level of priority to Him in the family dynamics, He would have MADE ONE at the same time He made His family. Simply fascinating.

Gosh, I do believe that was off topic, sorry guys!

Now, that leaves the impression that aside from the labels the Mods adopted for this form, traditional Adventists believe they can work their way to heaven. This is what the disclaimer says.

For some reason your comment reminded me of this verse.....Ecclesiastes 1:10 - Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

The Word of God certainly helps us get back to our "roots" to learn eh? :)

Congrats on the new-grandbaby-to-be...how exciting! I can't wait (seriously) to be a grandma.

Just because the name is "Traditional" does not mean in any way any of us here believe we can work our way to heaven at all, even in any small way at all. It does not happen at all.

All it means is that we believe in the Bible and the 27/28, along with the SOP.

Nothing to do with any work so God will favour us.

Yes Cliff, I agree completely. Even the apostles tell the people to hold to the "traditions" of rightness. I think we fail to realize that the word tradition has another meaning besides the one that SDA's abhor. Religious Manmade traditions that are placed above scripture are definately wrong. But the traditions based upon the truths of scripture are a blessing to man.

And so, the title "Traditional" is ok, although I prefer "Historic" over it.

Hello all,
Many of you know me or remember me from before. I haven't posted in a while but it is nice to be back.

Anyway, I'm 36, married to a wonderful woman (many of you know her), consider myself a traditional Adventist, and enjoy a good debate provided it is carried out in an intelligent/logical fashion. Name-calling and mud-slinging usually means the debate was won by the other person. :)

I enjoy putting together studies on various Bible topics - not done to convince another of a different belief but to show them why I believe the way I do; that way they at least understand I'm not making things up or that I'm some blind "EGW" automaton.

It is good to see the new faces and I truly hope this new forum structure will result in a positive and loving enviroment for learning and fellowship.

God Bless!
