Nice to hear. To be honest, if you talked to your agnostic friends and the conversation was interesting, its no doubt they have some belief in God or some religious related issues, they just dont like to think its 100% true and confirmed, because the whole Old Testament and New testament could have been written by normal human beings, not by God. But some parts of whats written in the scriptures, could be a message by God in some way, so it depends how you look at things, I guess. There arent many Christians in Israel and honestly not many religious people around the city I live at in Israel, so I dont have irl people to talk to about religious issues, or ask religious questions like I did here.I have a few agnostic friends in real life. We get along just fine and have had some really good conversations about religion. Openness and willing to hear each other out really goes a long way, even if we disagree in the end.
To be honest I have never felt "at home" in Messianic Synagogues, they just did not work for me. That could be because the really "good" ones are few and far between. When I was on that path I felt much more comfortable between a Reform congregation and Chebad house in my area, both were very welcoming and understanding. You can still attend a mainstream synagogue and hold messianic beliefs, IMO.
Chabad is everywhere in Israel, so presumably they are in your town too. I would contact them. They are warm and welcoming and available to answer your questions.Nice to hear. Overall I'm glad I joined even if I havent become a very religious person, I'm still interested in the subject and I'm also glad I got answers to my questions. Being agnostic for me is the best decision I made in my life, it means I dont jump to any conclusions about anything, I stay in a neutral position when it comes to religions. I was just really curious about Jesus and all that, because Jews in Israel here dont say he didnt exist, they just express their lack of belief in him and the whole "Jesus is the messiah" thing as something stupid Christians made up, which is sad to hear in a way.
To be honest my best friend leans more Deist than Agnostic, so it makes for an easier starting point in conversations. I think it is natural, and good, to ask questions to and to not just take everything at face value and dive in 100%. Closing off our minds is not wise, even if we don't agree with someone in the end, we should be able to understand their position and see how they arrived there - and respect them for that.Nice to hear. I am glad that you are here with us, feel encouraged to reach out if there is anything I can do for you. If you want we can adjust your "Faith Label" to "Agnostic" or "Seeker", if you think that fits your beliefs better.Overall I'm glad I joined even if I havent become a very religious person, I'm still interested in the subject and I'm also glad I got answers to my questions. Honestly I don't understand when people outright dismiss something without looking into it a little more. Even if one does not believe Jesus to be the messiah, there are some really good reasons we believe that he is, reasons that do square up with the Jewish scriptures and prophesies about who the Messiah is or is supposed to be.
Let me make a Ticket for you and I can complete the change nowYes please, change mine to Agnostic please if you can do that. Can you do that now?
Are there forums available only to Catholics / Protestants? I dont belong to these groups, but on the other hand I still wanted to be able to visit their forums, to read atleast, not necessarily participate in their discussions.
