Hi, everyone. I'm new to CF, so I'll start off by introducing myself...
I've been raised against a Catholic background, but accepted Jesus as my Saviour only a year ago. ... Up until then, to be honest - and this, sadly, says a lot about (Catholic) "Christian life" over here - I didn't know there was anything like being saved or having a personal relationship with God. ... (Wow, how must that sound to you?!)
Anyway, by God's miraculous hand, a young Brazilian happened to do a high school year abroad here and became friends with my sister. Through her, this ardent young Christian and I finally met. I was impressed by how natural it was for him to carry a Bible and talk about Jesus. After a 4-hour conversation, during which (from today's point of view) I put many of the standard sceptic's questions to him, I was convinced that truly believing in Jesus was way different from everything I had ever thought it meant. So although I didn't convert there and then, I took his advice and started having a closer look at Scripture. And, by the grace of God, the same happened to me that must have happened to so many of you.
De nomine I am (still?) Catholic though spiritually speaking my affiliation is probably more with Protestantism.
I'm glad I found this forum where it's possible to talk to like-minded people. (Believe it or not, but over here you have to look for them like the proverbial needle in the haystack.)

Btw, my sister's member name at CF is p.u.s.h. Glad to have her as a sister (relation-wise and in Christ).
We were saved more or less together, and in the course of last year this has already turned out a great divine providence.
