Hello

My name is Candice, I am from a city of about 100,000 people in New Brunswick Canada. Up until this fall, I had been attending Univeristy, where I was taking a double major in History/Communications and a Minor in theology.... Until I really felt God calling me to leave that school and seek him for a semester... which I did, and through that I found he was calling me to help women. So I am enrolled in a Bible College out in British Columbia...waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay on the other side of the country from me
I will be taking a basic biblical studies/theology degree, where I plan to transferr to a school in the US, and actually focus more on womens ministry.

Right now, I work at the Body Shop part time, until I start working at a christian camp for underpriviledged children in 3 weeks. This will be my 2nd summer there, and I am the assistant director/day camp director.

I have been on a few missions trips, not to mention I attended Intervarsity's URBANA 03 this past Christmas in Illinois.. and it was an amazing experience. I do childrens ministry at my church, as well as I am involved with our young adults ministry too (ages 18-25)

Hi everyone! I'm Julia. I'm a senior at Hope College on the west coast of Michigan. I'm proudly half Canadian, love the American south, and am a huge University of Michigan fan. I love people like crazy. I'd like to get involved in two careers (passions!) that one day might mesh together: media ministry (film, video, tv, etc.) and serving the persecuted church all over the world.
I love the Lord and have been following Him for about 12 years. He has never let me go.

Like SOTF, I also attended Urbana '03 and have found God leading me towards full-time ministry/missions work instead of the "American Dream."

I've spent much time in such areas as Ottawa, Thunder Bay, northern Minnesota, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and the Southern BC interior. I enjoy going to the LCC Lutheran Church in Kelowna, BC on Sundays, going to the only Lutheran Church in Poltimore, PQ when I go to Quebec, campfire lit dinners and hanging out on the beach in Penticton. Hi I'm David, I'm an Air Force guy, I program computers in beautiful Offutt AFB Nebraska, go figure, anyway, enough with making myself look like a geek, CAUSE ITS NOT TRUE I TELL YOU. Anyway, I'm currently pursuing a commission as an Officer in the Air Force, and a physics degree to go along with it, go figure and I just said I wasn't a geek, ****....... My facade isn't holding up, anyway... thats the basics, but there is a lot more to it than that as always, but keep it simple I say. Always up for whatever you throw at me, hope to see ya'll around.

All,

My name is Justin and I'm an alcoholic and a drug addict. This is the start up phrase for me during most of my nights. I'm 23 years old and was saved in December. A year before that I was arrested for drinking and driving, and figured that I got off lucky and I better quit while the consequences are minimal. The 12 step recovery program that I'm involved with is a spiritual journey. They say: "What we have is a daily reprieve (from drugs and alcohol) contingent upon the maintenance of our spiritual condition." The program is to find a "higher power of your understanding" and rely up on it. In December I decided to check out the Church that I attend now...to bring me closer to God. I've never been the same since...

As you probably assume, my life has not been spiritual in nature...but today I'm forgiven, and it's incredible!

I've joined this forum to find discussion with other Christians, I don't have many people to talk God with because most of the people that I hang out with are in the recovery program with no desire to hear about Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.

I've made this post entirely too long, and I apologize.

Gods going to use you Justin to be a mighty witness to this lost generation if you'll let him. Keep going on Gods path for you and remember if your not growing your backsliding. I have friends that are and were into drugs, and ive seen backsliding and its a sad thing...to get a taste of Gods goodness and to return to the former life of vomit. God Bless Justin!

About me... Im Elicia, Im 20 and introvert on the outside, extrovert on the inside. Ive been pursuing God for 7 years now (with lots of peaks and valleys). Im a missionary ( ive been to Mexico, and to South Dakota so far...). Im a prenursing student, i hope someday to be a nursemidwife on the missions field. I like red poppies and plan to live on the beach someday. I like to cook, clean, weed my flower garden, eat,.... i enjoy photography, my dog Tinker, and church. Ive never smoked, or drank alcohol, had sex, or even been kissed. Im saving myself completely and totally for the man God has for me.

Thank you for the prayers! I have a lot of respect for the ones who never give into desire and temptation. Curiosity (I wonder what __Fill in the blank__ is like?) is an incredible foe. See, addiction...whether it be to drugs, alcohol, nicotine, sex, material possession...all of those were easy to rid myself of because it got bad enough for me to say "I don't want that in my life anymore." Keeping it out just requires a little memory of how bad it was. Keep up the great things that your doing with you life...because the things that you are abstaining from are things that people are struggling to get rid of.

Peace and Love to you all from our Lord Jesus Christ. I am Apollonian. Though I prefer not to use my real name online, I am pretty open otherwise. I choose the name Apollonian because it refers to the traditional Greek ethos of moderation and restraint along with moral and aesthetic responsibility.

I am a student studying astronautical engineering (aka rocket science) at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. So, for those of you who attended Urbana 03, I hope you liked spending time at my present home! I love it there and I've heard great stories of the grace and gratitude that everyone showed when they came to use our campus.

I grew up in the church, and have had the opportunity to seek wise and knowledgeable instruction regarding the Bible in my youth. Praise be to God that I have a wonderful youth group on campus. I hope to serve in the manner which God teaches me which I believe lies with my prowess in understanding and conceptualizing the moral and epistemological questions that trouble my peers in the current era. In addition to learning how to design and control satellites, I am currently studying apathy and ambivalence exhibited in postmodern American culture in order to hopefully gain greater understanding of how to free other people from social bondage.

In addition to space science, I enjoy philosophy, social-psychology, and cultural studies (specifically the Japanese). If anyone would like to discuss any personal or general question regarding Truth, perspective, Love, Life, or Beauty, I am always interested. For those savy in Myers-Briggs typology, I am an INTj (INTx) and hence I seem to be a rare breed.

It is my pleasure to come here, since it is a refuge from the many other fora on the internet which do not have the same sense of propriety and good will which I see here often. I hope to be of service to you all in thought and in spirit.

It takes what's happening on the screen, and turns it nto electronically synthesized speech that I hear through the computer's sound card speakers.

I understand now. That's really amazing! Praise Jesus that one way you will be able to see! You'll appreciate it much more than many of us. I found your testimony page and have read some of that. You've already answered many of my questions there. Anyway, I hope you read more of you around here in the future.
