I'm an intern minister with the Bay Area church of Christ and work with the campus ministry at the University of South Florida.

Hi Wes! I'm from Tampa, currently over in Boca Raton for school. I dislike hurricanes as well (sorry that we keep pushing them your way after we get them). Just wondering where your church is I don't think I have ever heard of it... Be safe through all these bad weather. God Bless.

Cool to have another Tampa Person here

The Bay Area church of Christ is in Mango a block off of Martin Luther King Blvd. a mile or so down from I-75.

Are you familiar with the Mango area?

I know where MLK blvd is and I know where I-75 is but I've never heard of Mango. How long has the church been around? Is it fairily new?

Mango is right beside Brandon and Valrico if you know where that is.

I'm not real sure how long the church has been around, but I know its been around a few years at least (I'm from Arkansas and didn't grow up here). I think it consists of two different churches that merged to form one. I want to say those two churches were the Tampa Bay church of Christ and the Mango church of Christ - now known as the Bay Area church of Christ.

I could be wrong about that though ...

Greetings to everyone!

My name is Greg S. Whyte (which, the meanings of my name is the username that I have... Greg/Gregory="watchman", and the S.="Highlander" (I'll let you guys figure that one out ) I am 24, and the pastor of a small church in Waterloo, Ontario, as of June.

Before that, I was in Bible College in Toronto for 3 years, and before that, the rest of my life in BEAUTIFUL British Columbia, in various towns there, with a few years up in the NWT of Canada (at the top, for those who may not know where it is...).

I was raised in an agnostic home, outside of the church, and became a Christian right after I turned 18 (6 years ago, give or take a few months). Don't know how to really describe how I came to become a Christ follower without making a novel of it, so I'll just say that I have my testimony written on my personal website, which I think can be linked to through my user name on the forums... If not, PM me or get me on MSN.

Anything else, please feel free to ask (though PMs might be the best for this, as I have forgotten some of the threads I've posted on already... Yeah. I can be kind of absent minded at times... ). God bless you all!

I think I know where you are talking about. I've never heard of the church but there a lot in that area so I'm not suprised. How long have you been in Florida? Do you like the Tampa area? Different from Arkansas I'm guessing. hehe

I've only been here a couple of months now. I love it here - its awesome! I'll be here for a year or two - if you come back to visit you oughta come meet the people in our college group.

We have between 65-75 college kids and we are always doing stuff (either praise and worship, bible study or just hanging out having fun doing different things).

I'd be more than happy to give ya directions - its a great group!

Wow! 75? Thats amazing! Whatever ya'll are doing, keep it up! I'm coming back to town the weekend of the 22nd so I'll have to see if I can come check it out then. Directions would be great, thanks.
