  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've always been an optimist in the past, but I think it's going to get worse at an increasingly fast pace...like it has just in my life time. People are hostile everywhere you go. I wouldn't believe it could be this bad if I wasn't experiencing it myself first hand. And I am at a loss how to get it to slow down, let alone go in the opposite direction. Earth, "the insane asylum of the universe" is a VERY HOSTILE PLACE! Even Christians are losing their humanity.

Sorry, long answer. but, think of it this way, I cared enough about the question to not blow it off with a monosylabic "I could care less" answer.

When was the last time you uttered a friendly greeting or smiled at someone in passing, instead of looking away and acting like they weren't there?
