  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why wouldn't it be moral? Two consenting adults who love each other should be able to make a vow of commitment to each other.

I think its perfectly ok and moral. I think people have prejudices that are passed down through generations that are so hard for them to shake. My father used to be incredibly racist when he was growing up in rural Alabama in the 40's and 50's. He joined the Navy and that basically whooped it out of him. :D. I'm so glad because my father became a wonderful Christian and was able to break that cycle in our family and show love (so much love!) to so many people of all races. We grew up hating no race. Thank God!!

I've actually heard this argument before. anyone care to uphold it with a good defensive argument? (perhaps we should forget the fact that almost no one is pure-blooded anymore, but this could be an interesting topic) :D

I find nothing wrong with interracial marriage.

I feel a marriage between two vastly different cultures may prove to be a challenge to a healthy relationship, but I personally feel there is absolutely nothing inherently immoral about either interracial or cross-cultural unions.

Is interracial marriage moral?

Unforntunately, it is not a sin.

If yes, why lot's of people think it's "wrong"?

A Natural Law argument mostly. Why would God create races if he wanted them to mix? If inter-racial marriage was OK, why did God create races in the first place? Inter-racial marriage destroys the races God created. It's only natural to prefer you own race. etc. And then they extrapolate this into morality.

Perhaps to help us overcome our prejudices and narrow-mindedness...

..at the races which wouldn't otherwise exist. Kind of a circle isn't it? And if you mean prejudgice and narrow-mindedness in general, there are other, better ways of helping that.

So Jesus was saying that he would not be one of her accusers .
Perhaps to prove His point that of one blood, all of humanity has been created. Moses wasn't exactly with a woman of his race, if I recall. And I don't think God separated them because of it.

It's only natural to prefer you own race.
I'm inclined to believe that it's natural to prefer one's own race, but then again, I would hope it's not a requirement.

Adam was created out of dirt, according to Genesis. There's red dirt, yellow dirt, brown dirt, white dirt. There are (so-called) red people, yellow people, brown people (aka black people) and white people.

No.

When prejudice and narrow-mindedness is overcome, there is progress. There is nothing circular about it.

b@rtleby made a solid point.

well, then i'm weird. I am (largely) oriental and don't have a preference toward that end.

To spread the people throughout the earth. God told the people to populate the whole earth, they wanted to stay in one place, so God mixed up their languages so that they would have to go out on their own and populate the whole earth anyway. Different races are the result of God confusing their languages and environmental adaptation.

Yeah. People look different because they are accomodated to their environment. Do you really think having fair skinned people would make logical sense in subsaharan Africa? The only reason people object to interracial marriage is because they are bigotted. I know lots of people who are racist against blacks and hispanics but not asians. It's all due to what one experiences and is taught.
