Who thinks they have excellent internet service? I am now searching for better internet service. Apparently our Cox service at home sucks according to my kids. I wouldn't know because I rarely get on at home.
Who do you have and do you love them? What about the price?

I have RCN .. its OK, costs about 40 .. not as fast as exfinity or Verizon but I don't need every window insubstantially.

I have Cavalier. It's fairly cheap, and fast enough...i just need a new computer, or one with better memory capacity hahaaa

why do the kids say that your internet service is not the best?

I have WOW which is only available in limited areas. When the guys come around trying to get me to switch to other providers, they never even bother after I say I have WOW and am happy with it. The best they say they can do is to match the price...so I'm assuming I have a decent price. However, I also only have the bare bones plan...the kids do play games online and haven't complained yet however our needs are fairly basic and not that advanced.

Before you go changing service, you need to find out what your kids are having problems with...if they do high tech stuff, it might not be the provider so much as you don't have an advanced enough level of internet. It comes in different speed and other technical stuff that my nephews insist that are necessary for life....

high speed DSL from AT&T for $36. Very reliable.

you can bundle for more. I'm old school and still have a landline phone.

you dont have to have a landline for dsl service. IF I were you Brenda, I'd look into dropping the landlinde if you dont need it.

I have cable, internet, and phone for $85. I have the digital landline to run my fax machine and theoretically have a number to hand out when I don't want to give my cell number (however, in order to do that, I'd actually have to learn my phone number...LOL)

Never heard of RCN or Cavalier or WOW. What is WOW?

We have a new computer bought last year so I know it's not the computer. My sons both have laptops and we have an Xbox which they run Xbox live and netflix thru. My older son was on his laptop and my younger son was also on his laptop and the older son was trying to do his homework but he said our internet is too slow and he thinks it's because they were both using the internet at the same time and my younger son was on you tube. And probably at the same time someone else was on the desk computer maybe on FB. Netflix was not running and no one was playing Xbox live but it was still hooked up.
I have the third highest speed cox offers which is
Preferred with PowerBoost™ - Up to 15 Mbps downloads. for $54.00 a month. I don't understand this much but the next level up goes to 25Mbps and the final is up to 50 Mbps, but each level is like 20 bucks more a month so I can't afford it.

Unless you're (anyone) a serious gamer, anything over 3Mbps is more than enough speed for a home computer and surfing the web. If 15Mbps is too slow, you need to have your pc looked at?
