  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I can relate do some of them at my age even ... and a can think of a topic that he didn't touch too.
So a good article. Good at observing what isn't working and why. The real challenge is how to change it to be relative. But then one would be accused of changing the gospel!

Like brother Hillsage, I was called out too!

GOD is doing a lot of different things to get 'the called out' actually OUT.

What I've heard from people in our house church over the years are things like this (and this is why they come or stay):

- I am not judged but loved
- you talk to me about real life issues
- we have fun together
- you care
- we get real revelation (didn't learn that from the pulpit said many times).

So, although we don't have it perfected yet, (although perfect in HIM), we continue to learn through the challenges as a group.

Excellent article, worth reading ...thank you JohnNZ for sharing that.

Good link; interesting "reasons". It is all about priorities, in life. If attending Church is not a personal priority than you won't go. Those reasons you mention are more excuses than reasons.
"We're too busy/ tired to go". That is crazy. Do you think that you have it easier or harder (physically and mentally) than people in your area 100 years ago? Go talk to your grandparents, etc.
We have it much easier overall, today. So I don't buy this excuse...

Good point about never being "in" the church to begin with. If you're not, there's a good chance you never will elect to be in one. I suppose that is a critique of the parents...

Best,
Ken
