In my part of the world, we had our own little textbook sticker war recently. I believe one of the hardest things to communicate to laymen is the concept and validity of scientific theories. More specifically, why the theory of evolution is just as valid as the theory of gravity. You have all heard the response from a creationist when asked about the theory of gravity. If you want proof of gravity jump off a building. Of course that completely misses the point that the effect of jumping off a building only shows the evidence of gravity; It doesn't explain the mechanism. Similar to the fossil record.

So it appears some teachers down here have planted tongue firmly in cheek, but in a serious manner and have come up with an alternate explantion for this so-called theory of gravity. You think they read creation vs evolution forums?

Grappling says that there is a non-naturalistic, conscious grappler at

phenomenon but a non-naturalistic explanation for another is a
philosophically corrupt position and we do not advocate it.

The Laws of gravity give us mathematical equations to determine the effects of gravity. The mechansisms that cause gravity in the first place are still being theorized about (as well as their affects - ie. relativity is a theory where the evidence is starting to add up)

The laws of gravity (mathematical models) would work just as well for intelligent grappling.
