Barry O (Mr. Obama to those of you that are not hip) says that kids should spend more time in school, longer days and less vacation. How about education in the US get back to educating about math, language arts, history, literature, critical thinking, latin, foreign language, and maybe an art or two instead of social indoctrination?

The US with it's short school days and summer vacations

1) Made the airplane a viable invention
2) Made Nuclear power a viable energy source (the entire US Submarine force runs on nuclear energy)
3) Won WW II
4) Invented the Internet
5) The largest Computer and Software manufacturerers in the world.
6) Wall Street (barring the morons there now)
7) Went to the Moon (anyone been there yet other than the US?)

I could go on and on. I am not disparaging other countries, they have great things about them too (ie The Irish invented Guiness). My point is more school time is not the answer, better school time is.

Are you kidding? Social/economic liberalism is the epitomy of "faith"-based politics. Nothing is required to work, as long as I believe in it.

You are correct. More bad school with bad teaching methods is not the answer.
Personally I think part of the answer it to divide the schools by gender.
But that is just me.

US may have invented the internet but Asia and Europe are better at making it good. America doesn't have cheap fiber anywhere yet. Japan has 100Mbit asymmetric lines for the price of a movie ticket per month. =/

Didnt you hear that we won the Battle of Britain?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the greatest number of Japanese soldiers engaged by an 'allied' army, was the 1945 Manchuria Campaign, when the Russians attacked 1 million Japanese soldiers in China.

But dont forget the other important allies, the Free Poles, the Free French, Dutch and most importanly the Norweigans, who stopped Hitler getting the atomic bomb.

As I said before the USA gave their support after the turning point of the war. The Nazis were already loosing when the USA came in. Maybe thats why you waited until 1941 when the rest of the free world had been fighting since 1939?
