Insane Clown Posse = Good/Bad Influence?

ICP are a blessing in disguise, they have a very strong message which is be aware of the sins and choices u have in life because in the end thats what will be reflected. Besides, the violence is to contact and find the sinners who if they just thought "Oh, this is just another crappy cristian band" they might not find god, i say this because i quote the lat song in the wraith "some people would rather forget yah if yah didn't have the hatchet" which basicly meens if u didn't have the violence then some people would just flat out forget them, thats how they draw more people in to God. It shows them and introduces them to God.

I am a juggalo and yes ICP did proceed me to find God and make me do better things. Before ICP I used to like Eminem(****in ***** boy if ya ask me) but anyways he made iit ok for BEATING MY G/F ok is what I got at(btw never did beat my g/f) but listen to ICP's ****....It'll get you thinkin.... I really am. I don't know how anyone who has really listened to the lyrics of their music can say that they bring people to God. The constantly bash anyone that doesn't share their outlook on life or their "morals" (if you can call them that because they have none.) I have seen them on TV with hookers, strippers, trying to con innocent girls into taking off their clothes. The fact that they say evil is bad and good is good is really a good message, but look who is sending it. They have multiple songs about getting drunk, high, and multiple other forms of just debauchery and the likes. They even have songs where they profess to be necrophiliacs (people that have sex with the dead.)

Just because they may tell people that right is right and wrong is wrong doesn't in any way say that they LEAD PEOPLE TO GOD. I could profess the same, and then but a gun to your head and kill you. Am I a good person then? You should really compare what they have to say, to what the Bible has to say. I am down for doing things in new ways, but them using violence, anarchy, and perversion to throw in the shock value, so that they will be remembered is a cop out and excuse for people to buy their rubbish.

I really don't know anything about ICP as I don't like that kind of sound. But from reading their lyrics, its kind of tough to see how they are a "subliminally religous" band. And religion isn't always a good thing anyway. David Koresh had a religion down in Waco.

That being said, I think what an individual takes from the music determines whether or not it is good to listen to for them. I for one had a very strong good experience from listening to Ozzy Osbourne. I struggled heaviliy with binge drinking when I was a teen/young adult. The song Demon Alcohol sounded like it was written as a wake up message for me. It goes like:

And to think Ozzy was the most criticized musician by the Christian community. It was really embarrassing as a Christian to see so much hypocrysy by those blasting Ozzy while indulging in their own world of sin. Reminds me of the verse about removing the log from one's eye before attempting to remove a spec from the brother's eye.

The guy with the GF problems...im not sure how late i am on this...i am in a christian band and we are constantly...surprisingly...trying to get people to listen to ICP...we have actually played a cover of this song just removing the cussing...so im my opinion your GF is coming from a good direction but ICP was really good about spreading the WORD with the same style of music that all the teens listen to even if it means using foul language in my opinion the words you use can never be as influential as the message itself...ok sorry about that if im late on this im sorry but i just came across this... e-mail me if you have any other problems im glad to help...

ahahaha. Most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. ICP prolly doesnt believe in any of the crazy things they say, they are just in it for the money. First of all its not even good rap music. Second of all they are CLEARLY a bad influence. If you want some rap thats a good influence listen to talib kweli or mos def, somethin like that.

They are ok I guess, I have the great milenko cd but if you want shock just listen to dope. ICP has like 1 good song, "Piggy pie" thats about it really.

I used to listen to them. Not any more.

I'm pretty sure their "horrible" lyrics are in fact making fun of those kinds of lyrics and themes.

Oh i know, it is tacky. But I like it cuz its so different, and it represents me the best out of all kinds of music. ICPs music is very, very different. Songs like BLAAMMM! and Mad Professor are prime examples of what a common ICP song sounds like. Weird stuff, but interesting.

(BTW, i dont know what secular means....*blushes*)

ICP gives a good message, but through evil ways. The first Jokers Card had no good message behind it, just pure evil. This was to appeal to that audience, and try to change them for the better with later Joker Cards.

ive never heard nething like that about ICP. i have a few songs and will listen more closely, but honestly i can see no refrence to God, and foremost the devil belives in God, but that doesnt mean ur a christain or nething, believing in Jesus Christ as ur lord and savior does. and i can see ur confusion since ur not a christain urself, but i really dont think they send an appropriate message and are messagers from god. talk to ur GF about revalations if u really want to kno about end times.

Is their new album "The Tempest" any good? I'm not sure whether to get it or not, I've heard mixed reviews.

if you seriously listin to the lyrics of there songs you find out that its all about life and religion, opinions and persuasion. they don't even sing that many rap songs. they take there poetry and put a beat behind it. Shangri-La is god. listen (i prefer reading the lyrics) to the unvieling lyrics. i'm positive they believe in what they saying. if you take the lyrics and put it to some other genre of music it wouldn't make a difference to them. they realized what the masses are like. running with the masses there modern day priests in my mind. i'm an acolyte in an episcopalian church and i swear even more then Violent J, Shaggs, Jamie Madrox, Monoxide, jumpsteady, anybody killa, or blaze. and u know at the end of the day i don't think god seriously doesn't care about if jesus is your savior or now, just that you lived your life true to your self and true to your nature, if your insane and u kill someone. insanity is a mental illness an when you reach heaven you'll make it in whether or not you've accepted the savior, or how u spread his message, as long as it touches someone and brings them closer to god, "We pray for yall,Thats why we call it family" Christianity is the family. they are entertainers but they are also insane in my opinion, because were all insane. i'ma stop before i go off on another tangent.
