What is your definition of information?Bungle was merely voicing our opinion that you may be using a different definition of information than the rest of us.
Information is a statistical measure of the randomness of a signal or string of data. The unit of measure is the Hartley or the Shannon, depending on whether base 10 or base 2 logarithms are used in its calculation. What is your definition of information?
Funny how, instead of providing your definition as requested, you push the same request to another user. Speedwell's definition is great. Now, can you please provide your definition so we can see if we are talking about the same thing? From your previous posts I suspect we are not....What is your definition of information?
My definition is the dictionary's definition.Funny how, instead of providing your definition as requested, you push the same request to another user. Speedwell's definition is great. Now, can you please provide your definition so we can see if we are talking about the same thing? From your previous posts I suspect we are not....
I thought the point of the thread was to explain information in DNA. What was the point, then, if you're not going to explain anything about information in DNA?That ability to perceive what I consider obvious is beyond my capability to bestow. So I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

Wait a minute. You can't explain why you believe what you believe? That ability to perceive what I consider obvious is beyond my capability to bestow. So I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.
Wait a minute. You can't explain why you believe what you believe?
That's the craziest thing I've heard someone say.
At last we get to a definition of information and as suspected, it is not the definition the rest of us use. Why did you have to make such a fuss about telling us?Information from my standpoint is data and in the case of DNA, data involving coded instructions capable of being deciphered by RNA leading to the formation of biological organs and organisms.
I am not postulating the existence of God a god or gods or goddesses. I am merely postulating the existence of an ID. Concerning your "question" about why I am so irrational in concluding that coded information that leads to the assembling of a computer such as the brain was coded by a mind, my answers that it is the logical thing to conclude. In fact most humans on Earth agree that it is the most logical thing to conclude. At last we get to a definition of information. Why did you have to make such a fuss about telling us?
Now we have your definition would you like to proceed with discussing how that information does or does not prove the existence of God? Or would you like to provide another petulant post avoiding the subject of your own thread?
Most people on Earth have no ideas about Information Theory or your misrepresentation of it or how any of that applies to molecular biology. Those as believe in God do so for reasons which may be entirely obscure to a post-Enlightenment rationalist such as yourself.I am not postulating the existence of God a god or gods or goddesses. Really? Your OP includes a video entitled "Information embedded in DNA proves the existence of God". But you're not postulating that God exists. Odd, but OK.I am not postulating the existence of God a god or gods or goddesses. I am merely postulating the existence of an ID.
I am asked what is my definition of information? Information from my standpoint is data and in the case of DNA, data involving coded instructions capable of being deciphered by RNA leading to the formation of biological organs and organisms.
Chances are good you could not get people to watch an one and half minute video. It is considered common courtesy to present the evidence in your own words instead of expecting people to watch a video for an hour and a half.

Where does the disproving of the existence of God fit in with Anglican theology? Just curious since this is something I consider baffling. Most people on Earth have no ideas about Information Theory or your misrepresentation of it or how any of that applies to molecular biology.
