  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I recomend milk carton bird feeders, this is easy enough for the 2 year-old to have fun and can be intricate enough for the 10 and 9 year-olds to have fun. The supplies are mostly house-hold items, which makes the cost virtually nothing. I would let the older two make one, then you could help the younger two, and the great part is that there is no end to how creative your kids can decide to be. As detailed as they want to be that is the fun of it. Just do an internet search for Milk Carton Bird Feeders and I am sure you will find plenty. The other nice thing about this craft is that at least for the next few days they will have something else they want to do, and that is to enjoy God's creation, they get to see all kinds of birds, after the feeders are done. Enjoy!

I don't have kids but I love crafts. I have a box in our spare room in which I keep anything and everything that "might" be useful for craft some day - coloured paper, ribbons, wool, wrappers (if they are clean and I like the look of them), card, paper, glue, any items that I might be able to stick on a card, beads, pipe cleaners..... It certainly helps to keep costs down although I do have to clear it out sometimes because it starts to take over the room ;)
