  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i can't think of any bands that sound exactly like those bands you listed (which is just as well, because who wants a Christian carbon copy?), but you could check some of these bands out for Christian indie(/whatever)..

starflyer 59
anathallo
brandtson
twothirtyeight (also: chris staples, discover america)
denison marrs
mewithoutYou

You might want to check out MuteMath too.
Umm I don't know if they sound like any of the bands the OP listed..but they aren't really "indie".

Geesh Carroll...whatever happend to Sufjan Stevens and Denison Witmer? hmm? yeah...I don't think I really have anything else to add.

mewithoutYou all the way dudes! I prefer their older stuff, but that's just me! Go for them, they are great! Very christian lyrics, at least from their first album, the second one is very christian too, but not nearly as positive when it comes to God lol... dont' ask

are you kidding? mewithoutYou's second album was much more positive than the first one.

and, it'd be mae sounding like copeland; copeland has been around longer. (though i personally don't really think they sound alike). brandtson is one of my favorite bands. what'd you hear by them?

and, i didn't say denison witmer or sufjan stevens because i was listing things that were more rock, versus indie folk. if you're into folky sounding stuff though, i'd totally suggest the two aforementioned people.

I hit Itunes and pretty much got the entire albums of Dial In Sounds and Send Us a Signal. I got some other random songs by them as well.

awesome. dial in sounds is a really good album in my opinion. send us a signal is awesome too, though for some reason i'm not quite as into it as brandtson's older stuff.
All I've really heard is Send Us A Signal. I bought it at Cornerstone last year after eveyone hyped up the band and claimed that SUAS was a masterpiece. I don't why, but I really can't get into it. Some songs are alright, but I think it gets a little boring after awhile.

Maybe I'm listening to the wrong album, but based on Send Us A Signal, I wasn't all that impressed.
