It seems to me that Mennonites and IBs are similar. I am a member of an independent baptist church. We believe in eternal security, 10% tithe, and worldly separation. Some say were legalistic. Are mennonites similar in these beliefs? Is it true that mennonites believe in conditional security? I've been thinking about that for quite some time now. Are they premillenial?

Actually Mennonites typically do not believe in eternal security but strongly believe one can turn from their faith. Anabaptists are usually very very Arminian in their beliefs while Independent Baptists lean towards Calvinism. Mennonites and all anabaptists believe that the Lord wants EVERYONE saved.

Also not all Mennonites give only 10% many give MUCH more and believe in living just on what God provides each day. But yes Mennonites do believe in total separation from the world and anything worldly. We live in the world but we are not of it.

As for the end times Mennonites do not have one set view but...

If you have any more questions I would love to answer them!

I have never heard that before and as far as I know it is not true. The Amish as a whole believe that eternal security would lead to arrogance. I cannot tell you what each district would teach but Im 90% sure that no Anabaptist group would teach eternal security.

I choose to live my life only under Jesus Christ and simply identify as a conservative anabaptist. But my church is conservative Mennonite and not districted or under any power but Jesus Christ.

Here is a discourse on Hebrews 6:4-6 about the Security of the Believer. It should show you the truth:
