The movie was OK, I was expecting a bit more imagination in the dream sequences, the story was cool though, great acting, great score as HighWayman said. A couple of other things I did not like was the unnecessary blasphemy which always takes me out of a movie and the simplistic explanation of hijacking a dream and of the dreams themselves. But still a very interesting and almost original movie.
Blasphemy (using God's name or Jesus' name) inappropriately really bothers me too.
Have you just not seen many movies?
There are plenty of movies that are way better than Inception..I just don't see the genius masterpiece that everyone else does.
I am a movie fanatic. I have a range of favorites from The Godfather to The Empire Strikes Back to The King's Speech.
But Inception tops them all.
The biggest thing about this movie is you really have a drive to see these characters to succedd in the end. You have two complex stories over overcoming obstacles to reach happiness. You've got Cobb, who just wants to seee his kids again, and Fisher Jr., who is a dissapointment to his Father. Both eventually overcome thier problems and reach wanted they wanted all along, peace.
And the supporting cast is great in every way. They aren't just characters who fill time, and they actually add to the experience with clever scens and dialogue, like he rotating hallway fight, and when Arthur steals a kiss from Aiadne.
Then you've got Eames and Arthuer's mishcevious teasing friendship, and of course Mal going around screwing things up for ppl.
If you guys didn't like than I respect that, but I csn;t say I unerstand why.
Inception was great, no doubt about it. My wife and I don't see as many movies at the cinema as we used to because of the price. It was certainly better than Avatar which I found boring and preachy. The only movies I enjoyed as much in the last few years were Serenity and The Departed. But that's just me.
Well I'm glad I saw the film before reading this thread, there's spoilers everywhere! I thought it was quite outstanding and Nolan ought to have won the best director Oscar as it is indeed a tightly directed film.
I don't often buy films these days preferring the Netflix route but I did buy the Triple Play of Inception as I'm sure I will watch it multiple times in the future!
I agree. The first movie I have gone to see twice.
Now in my honest opnion, after careful thinking, Inception is the greatest movie I have ever seen.
