This is the film for measuring the density of all others. More than once, you can find something different each time. This architecture is that the film at all levels: narrative, conceptual, symbolic, visual, with stories and characters culled to the density of rules and limits of the laws of physics exceptional.

The movie was OK, I was expecting a bit more imagination in the dream sequences, the story was cool though, great acting, great score as HighWayman said. A couple of other things I did not like was the unnecessary blasphemy which always takes me out of a movie and the simplistic explanation of hijacking a dream and of the dreams themselves. But still a very interesting and almost original movie.

Blasphemy (using God's name or Jesus' name) inappropriately really bothers me too.

They did that? I don't even remember that.

And I have to say, This is in my opnion, the greatest movie I have ever seen. And I'm picky guy.

Almost everything was perfect. I cannot find a single thing in this movie that I didn't like or was a fault. the charcters, acting, and plot was great and Nolan is a genius.

Just my opnion, don't want to come off as a fanboy here. I just can;t remember seeing a better movie.

Also the soundtrack was so amazing i actually bought it. The only time I have ever done that with a movie. kudos to Hans Zimmer.

Have you just not seen many movies?

There are plenty of movies that are way better than Inception..I just don't see the genius masterpiece that everyone else does.

I am a movie fanatic. I have a range of favorites from The Godfather to The Empire Strikes Back to The King's Speech.

But Inception tops them all.

The biggest thing about this movie is you really have a drive to see these characters to succedd in the end. You have two complex stories over overcoming obstacles to reach happiness. You've got Cobb, who just wants to seee his kids again, and Fisher Jr., who is a dissapointment to his Father. Both eventually overcome thier problems and reach wanted they wanted all along, peace.

And the supporting cast is great in every way. They aren't just characters who fill time, and they actually add to the experience with clever scens and dialogue, like he rotating hallway fight, and when Arthur steals a kiss from Aiadne.
Then you've got Eames and Arthuer's mishcevious teasing friendship, and of course Mal going around screwing things up for ppl.

If you guys didn't like than I respect that, but I csn;t say I unerstand why.

Inception was great, no doubt about it. My wife and I don't see as many movies at the cinema as we used to because of the price. It was certainly better than Avatar which I found boring and preachy. The only movies I enjoyed as much in the last few years were Serenity and The Departed. But that's just me.

lol don't even get me started with Avatar. I never could undrstand why people we're literally killing themselves over that movie. I also found it boring and the only saving grace was the visuals.

But when it comes on tv in 2 years and people see it they'll be like "Why did I almost kill myself over this movie? Oh yeah, it was in 3D."

Departed was great though.

I finally got to see Inception the other night..... Amazing. One of the best movies I've ever seen. The whole concept of the dreams and the characters and their stories, the action.... I liked the science behind the dreams, like how only a few minutes of "real" time is hours in "dream" time, and more and more as you keep adding in dreams. I'd like to think that it was real and Cobb wasn't dreaming, but I'll keep thinking about it and wondering. Love movies like that.....

Well I'm glad I saw the film before reading this thread, there's spoilers everywhere! I thought it was quite outstanding and Nolan ought to have won the best director Oscar as it is indeed a tightly directed film.

I don't often buy films these days preferring the Netflix route but I did buy the Triple Play of Inception as I'm sure I will watch it multiple times in the future!

I agree. The first movie I have gone to see twice.

Now in my honest opnion, after careful thinking, Inception is the greatest movie I have ever seen.

I seriously went through every movie I could remember seeing and Inception definitley beats them all. Should've won motion picture of the year, but the Academy isn't what it used to be. Not that the King's Speech wasn't good. It certainly was just not as good as Inception.

That was the thought which struck me as soon as the film finished, "this is the best film I've ever seen". it felt quite momentous

It's not my favorite movie. I don't have the emotional or cathartic connection with this film as I have with others, but this film is certainly one of the best films I've seen. Saw it three times in three straight days when it first came out.

The final scenes are absolutely brilliant. Couldn't have ended the film any better.

I thought Cotillard was absolutely robbed when she wasn't nominated for an Oscar. She stole every scene. Not that I wasn't expecting it, having seen several other of her movies. Nolan should have been nominated for Director, and the film should have won for Best Picture, I'd argue. Should have clearly won for Best Score, save for Hollywood's begrudging of external usage of other music.

Inception is one of the best movies I have ever seen in recent years. Yes, I did understand it when I first saw it...maybe not 100% but enough to get an appreciation for the film. I would definitely recommend it to someone who is in the mood for a deeper, more meaningful movie experience. I would warn you that you will need a big attention span though.

I agree with you, Dan. This movie was simply gold. I've only seen it once and I can still remember most of the movie. I understood it pretty well I think, but I'd love to see it again so I can catch anything I missed.
