I go back and forth on the issue of eliminating religion. At the moment I don't think it's necessary to get rid of it entirely, since it seems to be something that a lot of people feel they need in their lives.

But I'd love to see harmful theology excised from all religions. That is, the removal of beliefs which justify abuse, do damage to others, encourage damage to the environment, things like that.

Tomorrow I may think differently on that.

Also, we need a nice big breakthrough in science that can fuel a nice big breakthrough in technology.

I think a lot of good technology is available now, problem is our access to the technology is restricted due to funding.

I would like to see people begin to understand the concept of sustainability and how human survival depends on achieving it.
Fossil fuels are the life savings of Earth, we have essentially blown our life savings on a wild weekend.

Less people, less energy consumption, stop over production, end unrestrained capitalism, bring more people to one comfortable standard of living.

Hm, great answers. I agree with the fuel alternative and, specially, a meat substitute. It's worriyng all the space we dedicate to cattle, now.

I'd add a way to curb corporationism. We already have companies more powerfull than most governments and, as time goes by, situation tends to grow worse.
Take for instance USA. Wal-Mart has more power over it's inflation rates than the Federal Reserve and your main economic organ (for us, it's the ministery of Economy. you problaby have another nomeclature). Info source, Fast Company magazine history about the Real Wal-Mart.

Plus, we need to downsize a lot of things. Cities of dozens of million of people bring unsolved problems, megaplanes will bring more safety issues to airports, and let's not start about how smart it is to use a one ton, six-to-seven meters long SUV to move a 1,80 m, 90 kg person around.

Oh, yes, and north-americans start to use metrics to make everybody life easier, would be nice, too.

.... but I'd change everything for a world where anyone could walk around freely without fear of being killed, robbed or steping on a mine, and having a house to return to

HA!

The EU tried to get Britain to do the same except the British fought to keep our imperieal system

I can think of better things to fight for. Why oh why did we fight for a measurment system?
