Hey everyone. I'm currently finishing up my 2nd year of college. As of now I'll have between a 3.6-3.8+ average. So far I've spent my time taking the mandatory requirement classes and electives, and will be starting my major for next year. I decided to declare my major in geology a few months back, having taken oceanography, environmental science, natural resources/environment so far (including a lab in ensci).
Well I'm a bit worried now, kind of second guessing myself on if I made the right decision jumping into geology. I love science but I do not love math, and that's a big problem seeing as they go hand in hand. I've always tried my best to understand math, buying extra help books to teach myself, but in the end I really get no where. Next week I'll have to take a math entry test that I need to pass in order to take summer precalculus (which I already registered for), and I'll have to pass the summer precalc class to take the fall calculus course (yes already registered as well)... and I'll have to pass calculus in the fall to take physics in the spring....
So you see what I've gotten into here. If any one of those links are broken I'm going to have major set backs. I've been so nervous and apathetic about the whole thing, just feel like giving up really. If I switch my major now... I don't even know what I would switch it to, not the faintest idea.
I've always done well in school, and going to college for me was more for my parents and other family members, never for myself. I just went because everyone does, and my family wanted me to. I figure I would give it a shot see what it is like, but after two years though I do well in all my courses, I just have no great interest in anything. In highschool and now I've been really considering going to tradeschool for electrical or plumbing.
Well this has been more of a rant for me to get this off out of my mind and in writing. Maybe I should take some time off from school after this semester, look into tradeschool or something... Just really confused at this point, any feedback would be great. Thanks.
