  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So recently I watched this movie called In His Steps and, honestly, it's such a good movie. The acting is pretty bad in some places and a few things are just downright hilarious when it's meant to be serious, but I couldn't find myself hating the movie. I actually had a pretty good time.

The movie begins with a homeless man who is going around a small town asking for help and everyone turns him away. This, in turn, leads him to a church where he then talks about the hypocrisy of the people in the town who claim to be of biblical values while they turn away the hungry and destitute. From there, the question of "What Would Jesus Do?" is asked and for the duration of the movie, we get to see how life unfolds for a few characters who are trying to better themselves as Christians and human beings.

If you haven't seen this movie, I highly recommend it, even if only for the message itself. I think you can find it for free On Demand if you have Xfinity (or Comcast).
