In forgiving our enemies, should we forgive Satan or not?

Now I heard a pastor say, "we can forgive ourselves and we can forgive other people, and (he added) we can even forgive God"

I have two problems with this: One: We cannot forgive so as to fully absolve ourselves on our own it takes God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to do that and Two: To have to "forgive" God implies that he has done something wrong, which is incorrect.

The question really is: Should we forgive Satan, the impersonator of God in this world and leads many, many people to "blame" God... I know Jesus commanded us to forgive our enemies, but does this include Satan and his demons? I agree we should (let go) of (forgive) what was done to us by others, if not for any reason other than our own sake and happiness, but I don't know about forgiving Satan himself...

I would say that I just simply don't (and can't and won't even if I could) "know" enough about him and his deeds and his acts, and I don't want to know all about his wicked deeds/acts (even if it were possible), I don't want that in my head... I would say that I simply just don't (and I believe "can't) know enough about him so as to forgive him. I would say that I "might" forgive him if it were possible for me to know what exactly "he" is responsible for and what "we" are responsible for, (What he's done to us and what we've done to ourselves)

So, since I can't know I am just going to leave it in the Father's hands and say as Michael the archangel said to him "May Jehovah (the Father) rebuke you" Oh, Satan, and leave it at that.

Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?

God Bless!:)

The bible only ask us to forgive other people.... Never Satan

Any pastor who teaches God needs our forgivness is no man of God!

When pastors say such things it's a shame no one stands and says before everyone that's a lie!
And sad that alot of Christians will believe it as so....

Good point but I will disagree and say that any pastor who teaches that God needs our forgiveness is just plain ignorant of scripture. I will never say that anyone is not a man of God due to one dumb statement/sermon.

Hi KB,

Yes!!! I agree. What would God need forgiveness for? The Scriptures tell us that God cannot sin. I also agree that what God intends for us in our being willing and able to forgive others, that He is talking about our physical relationships upon this earth with other people.

Somehow, my spirit encourages me that some human trying to forgive God borders on the blasphemous. I can just picture my Father hearing someone to pray that they are forgiving Him, asking back of the petitioner, "What are you forgiving me for? I have not wronged you."

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted

Some passages would make a lot of things out to his (Satan's) fault but then other passages like James 1:12-15, would make a lot of things out to be our own fault, that's why I say "I just don't know?"
