Now I heard a pastor say, "we can forgive ourselves and we can forgive other people, and (he added) we can even forgive God"
I have two problems with this: One: We cannot forgive so as to fully absolve ourselves on our own it takes God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to do that and Two: To have to "forgive" God implies that he has done something wrong, which is incorrect.
The question really is: Should we forgive Satan, the impersonator of God in this world and leads many, many people to "blame" God... I know Jesus commanded us to forgive our enemies, but does this include Satan and his demons? I agree we should (let go) of (forgive) what was done to us by others, if not for any reason other than our own sake and happiness, but I don't know about forgiving Satan himself...
I would say that I just simply don't (and can't and won't even if I could) "know" enough about him and his deeds and his acts, and I don't want to know all about his wicked deeds/acts (even if it were possible), I don't want that in my head... I would say that I simply just don't (and I believe "can't) know enough about him so as to forgive him. I would say that I "might" forgive him if it were possible for me to know what exactly "he" is responsible for and what "we" are responsible for, (What he's done to us and what we've done to ourselves)
So, since I can't know I am just going to leave it in the Father's hands and say as Michael the archangel said to him "May Jehovah (the Father) rebuke you" Oh, Satan, and leave it at that.
Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?
God Bless!
