I'm really hoping to find some support/advice here. I am struggling severely with bulimia and depression. I really believed that I was free from it, but I've began to have a relapse..and it's much worse this time. I've basically given up hope. I've never felt further from God, or more alone than I do right now. I have only told a few people, but I feel like no one understands the hell I'm going through. I feel like I've lost everything, especially my identity. I just want to give up.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you are not seeking professional help you should be! That's what doctors are for. Do not be deceived by some in believing prayer will solve every thing. Prayer is good for many many things! But we should never dismiss medical assistance when needed! If your child got hit by a car, what parent wouldn't call an ambulance immediately? Yet some are under the illusion all they need to do is pray.
