  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So far, Trump may not have done anything, at least not anything we know about, that rises to the level of impeachment. But don’t underestimate him. He can do it! (Four Ways To Impeach Trump If Congress wants to get there, the paths are open. The Huffington Post)

I hope it doesn't come to that but I'm beginning to wonder if it will. These were suggested as possibilities by the Huffington Post:

  • The Russia Connection. We know for certain that Russia interfered with the 2016 presidential election to facilitate the election of Donald Trump. Some of their actions were clearly criminal. Hacking the DNC, for instance, was a crime
  • Refusal to Obey a Court Order, Trump’s contempt for the Judiciary has been on full display in his reaction to court rulings on his travel ban
  • Corrupt Business Entanglements: Although Trump has disavowed active management of his business interests, he has not divested them. That means he still owns them, and still stands to profit from their success. Trump and his apologists make the nonsensical argument that a president “can’t have conflicts of interest.” Rubbish. Of course a president can have conflicts of interest.
  • Perjury and Other Forms of Lying: If Donald Trump does anything consistently well, it’s lying. But if lying to the American people could get a president impeached, he’d be gone already. Perjury, however, will get the job done. The trick will be to get Trump to lie under oath. The way to do that is simply to get him under oath. He’ll do the rest.

I'm not even American but it seems that when a President has not even been in office for one month and people start wishing impeachment on the President, this strongly smacks of an unwillingness to accept the election results.

Your right, I'm a disgruntled Democrat but I think the guy is reckless. He can be President for four years as long as he doesn't break the law. If he does, all bets are off.

I remember Watergate.

Henry Kissinger made the comment that President Nixon's rivals simply did not understand the effect on world relations of politicians indulging in messy and public attempts to remove the head of state.

It could be argued that President Nixon brought it on himself (even though all the Presidents since FDR did things which were more or less illegal.

As FDR recognized, in war (and war planning) the authorities are likely to do some things which are of dubious legality; it would be naive to think otherwise.

It would be stupid and worse than useless to impeach him before he's done anything impeachable. It's not something that should be done lightly or without grave cause not just out of spite.

In Washington state where I live, most people seem giddy with excitement at Trump's presidency. They think he has accomplished more good for the country in a few weeks than Obama did in 8 years! They think he is God's man for our time. On Thursday night, I was invited to a church service and the worship leader took the liberty to gush his gratitude for Trump's leadership. A 2-term president for sure!

So what do I think? I am no Republican, but I think Washington desperately needed this shake-up. I'm tired of my Democrat politicians promising much and delivering virtually nothing. I don't think Trump lies; I think he speaks passionately and is a pathological flipflopper. I actually love his flakiness! I find it a refreshing change to have a president who constantly says embarrassing things, and then, does great things.

I am worried about the loony left taking over the Dem Party. I'm appalled by the alt-Left demonstrators, their rudeness, their destruction of property, and most of all, their Fascist violation of the First Amendment in rioting to prevent conservative speakers from addressing college campus crowds. I hope the Dem criminals who leaked Trump's conversations get identified and prosecuted. This is not my mother's Dem Party!

I'm reminded of Israel's greatest king, David, a murderer and an adulterer, and yet the only man to be described in the Bible as "a man after God's own heart." Paul learns that God delights in "perfecting His strength through hour weakness" and God just may be in he process of doing that through The Donald!

If Trump does lose reelection, I may well vote Democrat. We'll see if they can choose a candidate who acts house-broken!

I honestly don't think that's it, I think the issue is with concerns over the ethics & legality of his actions. The main person still showing unwillingness to accept the election results is Trump, bc he's salty that he lost the popular vote by millions.

He's only been in a month. What are these great things he's done so far? What has he directly done through policy or action?

I lived in WA for years & am close with the friends still living there. I've never heard of anyone from there being giddy about Trump. From what they've said, most think just the opposite of what you wrote. I know my teachers at the MS I went to there were SO opposed to his pick for Education secretary. Really dismayed bc she's so unqualified. Are you from the eastern side of the state?

Stock market was going up for years now. Some famous guy said that it was surely a bubble that was going to burst and we shouldn't look at it for indications of economic strength.

The Carrier deal is a bad deal. You really should look into it. Saved some jobs for now, sure, but basically gave Carrier a six million dollar bribe to stay in the country and they're going to use it to take away jobs through automatic. Now, if he had threatened the parent companies federal contracts, I would have been very happy with that.

Which car manufacturer?

Do you think the impeachment of Johnson and Clinton were justified?

I'm Canadian and maybe I'm not following what you're saying: are you saying that the Electoral College vote is supposedly incorrect and therefore President Trump should be impeached because Mrs. Clinton supposedly won?
