Only been a fan for a few years, and I managed to get both iMegaphone and Speak For Yourself (her two solo albums) the other day (they were on order for aaaages) Some people may know her as the vocal half of Frou Frou.

Does anyone else like Imogen Heap? I think she's amazing...such a unique voice (and what a range!) She also produced, recorded and mixed her second album (Speak For Yourself) all by herself. I think she has a song coming out on the next season of Heroes too. I took these next few snippets from Wikipedia;

The boarding school she was sent to lacked students wishing to pursue music and Heap clashed with the music teacher. His idea of punishment was to leave Heap alone to learn by herself; as a result she principally taught herself sequencing, music engineering, sampling and production on Atari computers. Following this, Heap went on to study at the BRIT School of Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon, Surrey, England.

Having enjoyed a prestigious live debut, performing four songs, which happened to be backed by her closest friends including the band Acacia, between sets by The Who and Eric Clapton her album enjoyed some critical high points all over the UK.

In concert, Heap is a one-woman band, controlling the sound through her Apple PowerBook laptop, as well as singing and playing the piano and array mbira.

So yeah, Imogen Heap is pretty darn interesting! Here is a link to her MySpace, where you can hear some of her songs, and here is her Wiki page.

Finally, here are a few videos

Oh yes, I know Imogen Heap. I came across her music about a year ago, and I agree she is a talented and interesting artist. She's got a very recognizable and unique voice, definitely not a cookie cutter sort of vocalist. I also enjoy her work with Frou Frou.
