2000 years is a long time to be wrong. Good thing God is longsuffering.
Have people who refer to the saints as "dead people" been around for 2000 years?!

sure, pagans and athiests, some gnostics who did not believe in the immortality of the soul, all of them would believe that saints are dead

Because it was fiction and it took all those years to make it believable.

Nah, the Roman Catholic church had some inkling of this before 1854. However, it wasn't around in 1054, seeing how the Orthodox reject it.

Just throwing that in there.

Why does the recipient have to be cognizant of it? People that suffer from mental illnesses or other lack of being able to understand does Jesus reject them because they lack the ability to understand?
That's a great point tdig,
I dont know.
But then Mary wasnt suffering
from mental illness.

Why did Jesus tell his apostles to go out and baptize in the name of the father son and holy spirit?
I lost you there.

Mary did just this she was given God's Full Grace at her Conception and lived her entire life in God's limitless Love, she didn't sin because she knew that if she did she would be sperated from the Love of God.
But Tdig.
We dont KNOW this,
this is just a theory.
How COULD we know this?

Sin is us seperating ourselves from the Love of God not God seperating himself from us.

Tdigaetano and sunlover, you are bring about some very interesting points, thank you
RHAMIEL !
Long time no see.
I wont say what I
normally do, but ..
I DO hope all is well.

Yes, it's such a joy
and blessing to dig
for nuggets isnt it?

More like 1600+ years. The thing about false doctrine is that it does not improve with age. Nor does it improve with the number of adherents.

Your talking about intellectual assent. I'm speaking about faith based on the witness of countless christians.

As stated earlier. The truth is quite obvious when one looks at the facts honestly.

Peace

What would compell a person to do such a thing!

Another "bleeding heart" picture idol.
An Idol is a false God or something you place above God.
Mary is a real person, the mother of the Christ.

Your statement is in error.

Thanks for playing

well satan is in it, it is an orthodox icon of St. Michael throwing the devil into the abyss. I saw it in a display of Orthodox Icons, I think this one is Russian.
the picture Terry put up is not an idol, it has some surreal imagery to it to show spiritual truth, no one thinks Mary dressed like medieval royalty or had a floating heart infront of her chest, he even showed the part of the Bible that inspired the use of a sword to symbolize the pain she went through seeing her son and Lord crucified, show try and show a little charity and understanding before you label something an idol

Mary was the mother of the man, Jesus. Jesus was not God.
There it is folks: The ancient 4th century heresy of Arianism, denying the Divinity of Christ. All Christians hold to the Universal Truth that Christ is fully God and fully man.
