Calvinists usual dont practice adult believers baptism but, what if a member of a calvinist church aprouchs the minister and act them to adult baptise the through full imersion, is that allowed or would the Minister post like turn that person down.

I agree with the poster above me that Presbys would not rebaptise a person. OTHO, Calvinist Baptists-key word Baptist-would rebaptise a person.

Here is a Wikipedia article on credobaptism.

I agree with the two previous posters that you're not likely find many, if any, Presby ministers who would re-baptize an adult, and since we're talking about a church member that's what we'd be dealing with, as he couldn't have become a member in the first place without already having been baptized. Of course, Presbyterians are happy to baptize any adult that has never had the sacrament. As for whether they would agree to do a full immersion, I don't know. I'm sure some would and some, maybe the majority, wouldn't. Personally, I don't know of any real problem that should prevent it. I myself was sprinkled in a Methodist church.

I misread the question. If the person was a Communicant member of the church they would have already been baptised. No Presbyterian Minister, Calvinist or not, would re-baptise using any method.

The only circumstance I can think of where re-baptism might be considered, would be if the original had NOT been performed by a minister of the Gospel, lawfully called thereunto, as stated in para 2, Chapter 28 of the Westminster Confession of Faith.

If the original baptism was proven to be invalid, the person could be baptised but not by immersion by a Calvinist Presbyterian Minister. If they specifically demanded immersion, arrangements would be made with a church that used that method.

Sorry for the confusion...........

What if an adult, who has never been baptized by anybody, presents to a reformed minister and requests baptism. I am assuming that is the situation in the OP. When I was in a Presbyterian church, they did immersion of people in that category. THey had to use a backyard pool, as there was not baptismal that big.

Our previous church was Evangelical Presbyterian. We met in a Messanic Jewish congregations building, which was a Baptist church before. So it had a full sized baptistry. One had at least one adult baptism in it, in fact, the steel from this "pond" is in my backyard.

Mode is not significant, we sprinkle children for convenience and safety. It is the symbolism of water and washing that counts.
