I'm so mad!

I went to P/R/E just to simply discuss the Passion and I never once started any type of Catholic debate or anything even close to that, I simply shared my experience with the movie. It was my understanding that I was allowed to post in fellowship threads. This guy ATTACKED me and Catholisism and for NO reason! He is ranting and raving that because the Passion is a "Catholic" movie I am not allowed to discuss it there because I am a Catholic!

Has this ever happened to anyone else here? I can't believe the way this guy came at me out of the blue and accused me of breaking rules and everything else!

Sorry I needed to vent with my fellow CATHOLICS!!!!

Yeah occasionally in other sub fora, some nut will see the word Catholic (or see something which is somehow associated with a Catholic, or the Church etc) and go off on some harlot of babylon tirade.
I usually report the posts.

Thats also why most of my posting is done in here

i am not catholic and i would love to hear your thoughts on the passion. please don t judge all of us non-catholics by a few nut cases. most of my family are catholics or methodists by the way.

IMO I think satan smiles whenever a Protestant bashes the Passion film simply because a Catholic produced and directed it. That sort of attitude is causing division, when this movie really has the potential to finally unite Catholics and Protestants on something. I am just glad that there are many level-headed Protestants on this forum who are rebuking that person.

That is why I don't post in the PRE room. Anyway, the movie is letting us know who's who that's for sure. I'm pleased to see some of the Prots in there defending us.

From what I can tell the gripe is this is a Roman Catholic Latin Rite film so it automatically is anti gospel because it was done in the Roman Catholic Latin Rite perspective.

I didn’t know there was a Roman Catholic Latin Rite way to hammer nails through some one’s hands.

It was nice to see that other Protestants in the forum were not agreeing with him -- I liked the poster who told him that it didn't matter if it was Catholic based because the purpose of Protestantism is not to be anti-Catholic.

I just read through the thread and the guy was way out of line. Sorry you had to go through that and hopefully it won't make you think all of us Prots are like that. As a side note, I just saw the Passion last night and thought it was a great film--very powerful. I've never been quite so moved by a movie before.

Well, everybody knows it is a Catholic film because it's based on the Catholic Bible, which has extra books (which were, of course, added to justify worshipping Mary), and which lay people aren't allowed to read by order of the Pope.
