I'm new here...

I don't know if "new here" posts are ok on this forum, but I read the "read this before posting" bit and it didn't say anything about it.

Anyway... I'm new here.

Converted to Catholicism when I was in HS, and was confirmed in 1984. I am active in my parish as an RCIA Sponsor and also serve as a volunteer assistant football coach for the Catholic grade school that is attached to our parish.

I've been lurking for a week or so, and y'all seem like a friendly lot, so I figured I might as well register and throw my two cents in the hat on occasion.

Some good friends of mine were very devout Catholics and invited me as my (non-practicing) Methodist family wasn't much involved in church at all.

The fact that jeans were "appropriate attire" for mass made it very appealling to me at the time. When I found out that the Catholic Church was the true Church founded by Christ Himself, I was hooked.
