  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Right now I'm actually "between jobs". Most recently, I worked as a medication aide at an assisted living facility. I am an EMT by trade, but working 96 hours per week in Los Angeles for a few years kind of took its toll on me. I also did time as a combat medic in the Army. I am currently in the very last steps of the hiring process for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Hoping that comes through soon!:thumbsup:

Okay, listening to music is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I know it's terribly cliche, but I like just about everything. Basically, the only types of music I DON'T like are: opera, classical and pretty much any of the new stuff from ANY genre. I am HUGE Fleetwood Mac / Stevie Nicks fan... I could never get sick of their music! I'm not real big into movies, but if I had to choose a few favorites off the top of my head: Into The Wild, Back To The Future, The Ring, Napoleon Dynamite, Superstar, The Sweetest Thing, A League Of Their Own... I'm sure there are others, but can't think of them right now.

My favorite color is blue.

My favorite foods... well, I'm on a very restrictive medical diet so there's very little I can eat. Probably my most favorite food that I can actually eat... roasted red pepper hummus:yum:. I like to keep it healthy as a general rule.

I have one cat named Abbie, and she's a cutie patootie!:)

I can't dance.

I used to like to dance back in high school. I thought I was actually good. Ha! I don't enjoy dancing now, though.

I'm not into all the "love" poetry kind of stuff, but I do love me some nature poetry.

I do not write poetry. I wish I was skilled in that way, but I'm not.

My hobbies pretty much include anything in the great outdoors. I am an avid hiker and mountain climber. I also love to camp, mountain bike and play just about any sport there is. Anything active. That's about it!

I'd have to say no. Something about the thought of being in space kinda freaks me out. I'm sure it would be awesome...if I didn't die of a heart attack in-flight.:p But I'm gonna go with no.

This may be a little off topic, but I personally believe we spend WAY too much money on space programs. There are a lot more important things here on earth that we need to be worrying about.

I prefer the New International Version.

I guess I could say my "home church" is Mac Covenant, but unfortunately, I rarely attend.

What made me decide on corrections? The pay! (73k/yr) But also, I've always been into action-packed jobs.:)
