The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lets see, Um, I don't understand what the "reputation 10" means, and I haove no idea wht the blessing system is, and I am trying to figure out this blinking thing that says I have a message...

First off, I am trying to figure out this message board. Also, I sometimes type things wrong, like getting my letters backwards, so please be understanding about that. My brain sometimes jumps too fast to keep up with my pecking at the keyboard...
Let's see, I was diagnosed last January just before my Grandmother died. Last year was really difficult.
I have chatted with my Docs and upon informing them of events in my childhood, I figured I had a mental breakdown at age eight. I know, I was there. I remember I was not like this before that time. One of the docs says I don't have Bipolar 1, so he thinks it was in my teens. I dont really think thats the case, because I have memories from the age of two, so I really think I am correct.
I have Bipolar Depression with Anxiety, and am quite shy, so this is a big step for me!
I have skimmed this for errors, and got a few of them, please forgive any I missed.

Welcome to the bp section of CF!!! The reputation is given to or received thru the thumbs up icon under the username. You can receive reputation from someone for a post or just to say hi!! You can give up to ten reps per day to someone else!!! The amount of rep given or recieve dis based upon the rep level of the person doing the repping. So everyone starts with 10, no way to lose it! Blessings are earned, one for each post, there are games etc, you can also gift blessings to others from your blessings bank. Blessings are used to buy things for your character to where or display to customize avatars or signatures, etc. Just click on some buttons and start exploring. Everyone starts with the same amount of blessings. There are also "jobs" that earn blessings every week. Your "wages" vary based on how many posts you have, but you have to remember to collect your "pay" every week. You can go to character and pick out "armor" and get your character to display by equipping once you select eyes, hair,etc! There is some choices in avatars without using blessings, just check out the character link at the top of the page, as well as the control panel. Blinking thing probably means you have a personal message. If clicking on the link doesn't take you there, then under the welcome in gray area in the upper right hand corner is a blue link that says private messages, click there and see what it is. I hope this is clearer than my normal, but I am rushed and headed to a graduation today. And don't worry about typos, they are my specialty!!! I have provided comedic relief a few times! Welcome! I am sure we will have more time to visit later on!

bipolarbear, first of all, I like your nic... that is clever and cute. Second of all, welcome!!! I am sorry last year was a rough year for you. It was for me as well as it was when I was diagnosed after being placed in the hospital. My prayers are that you will find strength, peace and courage for you now. I am glad you are here.

I don't understand any of that either and I've been here for months or maybe a year.
I just post messages and post on a blog. Anyone who has a blog will have a little blog icon somewhere after the cacophony of stuff under their username.
I'm not into online blessings (unless they are accompanied by words) reputation, hugs (how do you hug online? can you send me some chocolate while you're at it?) and all that. Aren't I the curmudgeon.
You'll get a feel for the people if you have time to read a lot of the posts that have already been written. Welcome to the group.

Aw i wouldn't worry about all that stuff...it comes with time. To bless someone you click on their little heart/cross icon, keep clicking until a little screen pops up. Any of those icons will tell you what they are for if you run your mouse over them.
Your reputation goes up when people approve your posts. And there are a couple ways to get blessings. Blessings can be used to purchase things, like items for your CF character...but that can be really tricky at first...it took me like a whole day to get my character up and running.
For PM just keep on clicking on it until your Private messages come up.
Welcome again...remember you don't have to figure it all out right away just keep posting and it will come to you over time.
