As some know I had been looking for an apartment.
I knew the right place would come around in God's timing.
It took three months but I finally found it last Friday.
Friday, May 15th -
The apartment was made for the landlord's daughter who was disabled and named Kathie.
They wanted me to have it. They seemed real nice.
They are retired and own many properties. But this one is special.
They had two other calls of people interested but would not give them details.
Saturday, May 16th thoughts -
There is a few things dad has to build for the new place...
Plus I have to wait for phone service and internet service before moving in.
Next weekend my parents already planned to go away.
So I will stay at their house while they are away.
But after that I will move my bed and loveseat and essentials.
At least that is the plan right now.
I do have to buy a washer and dryer - will look for used/refurbished ones.
There happens to be a store just up the road from the apartment called ...
Randy's Used Appliances.
Also need to get curtains for the huge windows in the living room and bedroom.
The bedroom is HUGE - did I mention HUGE.
It could hold at least two king size beds.
I will use half of it as my den/office area.
I'll be able to set up my desktop PC again with printer/scanner/copier/fax machine.
That PC has all my good software packages like Macromedia's Dreamweaver Suite.
Oh, and there is a huge walk in closet off of the bathroom.
I can hang up all my clothes and also use it for general storage.
The kitchen is on the small size but doable.
May have to figure out something for more storage of pots and pans and stuff.
Monday, May 17th -
Headed over at 1 PM.
Measured all the rooms so I can start planning furniture placement.
Mom measured windows and shower for curtains and rods.
Dad measured for steps he needs to build.
There is a small step into the apartment.
There is also a step into bathroom/walkin closet area.
And there is a step into the shower.
It is a basement apartment so they had to elevate the shower to accomodate the drainage system.
Dad will be making three steps for me so I can more easily get about.
The landlords still have a few things to do at the apartment.
I do not want to rush them.
We only brought a few things over since we were going there anyway.
Tuesday, May 18th -
Called internet provider -
I can get broadband at new apartment.
And they do also have phone service in that area.
So I am going with them for both services.
I have used this local internet provider before and liked them.
They have great customer service staff and they are local.
So I now have my new phone number.
But it will not be available until next Wednesday.
I will get the key to apartment Monday.
Not actually staying overnight until Tuesday.
So I will not have phone or computer that night.
Phone/internet set up scheduled for Wednesday morning.
