  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm losing my mind. I can't think straight. I'm overwhelmed with work, and I don't have a job, it's all school work.

I have a paper due in a few minuted that I've been working on for two days straight, and I'm going to have to email it to her.

I have midterms starting wednesday.

I had a paper due this past friday, got it there on time.

I am so stressed.

Is this normal??????????????????????

Some students have more difficulty couping than others. Nonetheless, the best way to fight agaisnt that kinda stuff is to just steel yourself and realize your in college for a reason.

My suggestion? Drink Coffee and stay away from the internet while writing papers (otherwise it'll take you three times as long.) Hopefully, you studied enough by now to just need to review for your mid-terms.. right?

But I can't suggest anything agaisnt the freshman burn-out.. Good luck with that. : )

It's good that you're taking your freshman year seriously. What you're feeling is very normal among college students. Pretty soon it'll become normal to you too and hopefully you'll learn the best way to deal with your course work as time goes by. If you find that you're still feeling extremely stressed out you could take a lighter course load or check out some academic resource centers that can help you with the stress things. Don't worry so much, as they say 'this too shall pass'.

One thing that helps is to really learn to schedule your time better. I had many of those problems, but when I learned to schedule my time and workload, things just ran smoother. I probably should get back in the discipline of doing that again. I've lost it since I've enter into the working world. I will enter the academic realm again, soon here.

Yep, definately normal. I went through that as well. It didn't really hit me until second semester freshman year, since my first semester was mostly math (which is by far my strongest point) and intro courses, so I had little trouble. But second semester...oh man... My GPA dropped a full point and it was the first time in my entire life I finished a semester without a single A. I know that they may not seem that bad, and it wasn't. I'm recovering, but the point is, I've never had any trouble with school, yet it still hit me hard. No matter what your skills, intelligence, experience, etc, freshman year will beat you around. My perserverience rewarded me this semester with perfect scores on my first two tests. So just stick with it: it will get better.
