The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A valid expression of frustration, LTG. I think I can safely say most all of us have been at that place. The inconsistancies of depression. It will pass but I know that doesn't make things much easier for the time being. You are in my prayers.

I have felt that way at different times. It is difficult if not impossible at times to understand what God is doing or why he is silent sometimes.

God does care though, and he won't go away
thank you all for the compassionate responses. I'll be honest here: I was worried about my family's financial state (even though my brother and I are taking SSI) To be blunt, SSI isn't exactly enough for me, but I DO need it (on account of my intense emotional problems)

Oh Loyal God loves you deeply and cares for you in so many different ways. I know it is hard to see sometimes, especially when you are depressed, I've been through that many times as well. Please don't blame God for loving the wicked though for that is far from true, their good fortunes will only last a short time but salvation wont come their way as it comes to us.
Instead of being angry with Him, thank Him for His love over you in Jesus Christ, you are so fortunate that you may know about Him.

Been there--told God to stay out of my life, out loud, no less!--I told Him I accepted my end in hell and to just go away and leave e alone to live my life as I wanted.---All I asked of Him, was to not be amongst those who try to overtake the city. Why did I ask that?--'Cause it's stupid to raise your hand against God! I said I'd take going to hell and not squawk about it, but to try to take the heavenly city is just plain stupid. I was dead on serious.----And therein laid His way back in! I didn't think about it at the time, but there is only one way to avoid that crowd--to be with Him!! I had given Him permission to come into my life without me knowing it! I was away for 25 years--then there was a long string of things that lead up to my coming back to Him and I was so glad He worked so hard to bring me back.---You may be done with Him--but, trust me, He is not done with you!!!
But, beware--amongst the things that happened, was one day I was reading the newspaper, and I can't remember what was the article, but in all that I read I got this one extremely strong, overwhelming impression---come back now, for I will not call you again!!
I really believe that had I not come back when I did, I would have grieved away the Holy Spirit and would not have ever again been able to want to come back.

Been there too, and I always think about whether or not I had blasphemed the Holy Spirit at that time. I think I told God to take His Holy Spirit back because I wanted nothing to do with it. That was about 24 years ago. I still wonder about it but I've been told that if I had blasphemed the Spirit back then and God had taken it back, I would no longer be concerned about it or anything to do with God anymore. The fact that I still care is an indication that God still cares too. Thank God for that!

Sorry for being late to this thread but I do understand how you feel.
It can be frustrating when things are going badly especially when you see people who have no time for God and sometimes doing terrible things yet seem to have everything going for them. However as others have said this life is only temporary and the wicked people may have things going their way in this life but our time on earth is only temporary whereas when this life is over you are in eternity where justice will finally be done and the scales balanced. Have you tried reading psalm 73 as the guy who wrote that (I don't think it was David) talked about exactly the same things. I always read that when I feel life is unfair.Also just because a person seems happy and to have it all together doesn't mean they actually do have. For instance the person with loads of money could be very lonely and unhappy despite their financial prosperity. Hope that helps
