I'm bored at 5 am

Duolingo is fun and knowing other languages could be a useful tool in the future for ministry or work.

I used to do free online courses on sites like Future Learn but they seem to give me worries about health and food which disturb my equilibrium (I kept doing medicine and nutrition courses) so I have stopped for now. Our Daily Bread Christian University has some really good free (Christian) courses.

I watch quite a lot of Netflix which I enjoy and it is nice for my husband as he is pretty much housebound. I know it is mindless entertainment and not wholesome but I guess it keeps me in touch with the ways of the world. It's probably not ideal to create a Christian bubble and stay in it although that sounds pretty great, haha.

I have never been gifted with the skills required to make friends so I am a bit of a lone wolf and have to find ways to occupy myself.

When I read your post I got a nice warm feeling so thanks for typing what you did. I know what you mean about not being gifted with the ability to make friends. For a long time now I've been at a disconnect with most everybody I meet. It's not healthy at all and I need a drastic change. It's affecting my work life and all my life besides absolute solitude and brief moments of human interaction. I know your struggle of finding things to occupy yourself and maintaining some sort of normal system or being. I take walks with my family dog regularly just to keep my body moving even if it's only for 20 minutes or so a day. I do actually want a Christian bubble, it looks really peaceful. I actually did this when I couldn't sleep way earlier this morning with some hymns that I enjoy quite often. After that I updated my Facebook cover photo to a really pretty picture. Thanks again!

You know, when we get bored and lonely, an d don't have confidence to meet others, our minds work overtime. They often convince us we are one of a kind, a weird person. No one like us exists in the world. No one has the hang ups and thoughts we have. It isn't true. It's surprising how many are exactly like us.

Great that you want to replace the worldly things and what an opportunity to spend a block of time deliberately focusing on Yahweh
- you could listen to audio Bibles at BibleGateway.com- Audio Bibles such as Psa 145
- play some music with lyrics - not about us - but about Him),
- think about some of His titles, names, and attributes
- sing a song to an audience of One (if not musical, it's ok)
- glorify His Name, tell Him about who He is.
(Matt 6:6; Psa 46:10; Psa 33:3; 69:30; 71:23; 95:2; 100:4; 145+++)

That is easier said than done of course. Much of my life I have failed to take up the cross set before me and carry it. So I am not preaching from a lofty position as it were.
But that's the only honest answer I can give you.

When I typed that I was meaning to stop watching certain YouTube videos of people who lack self control and regularly exploit their bodies for views, do pranks, break rules and encourage people to do just that. Also, to stop watching certain YouTube musicians and listening to certain pop music. These things are very addicting and very entertaining to me and I need to rid myself of them. Those are some of the types of things I meant by getting rid of the worldly things.
