If you met God, proving He existed would be the last thing on your mind, why?

Hi there,

So this is a deceptively simple question, but I am curious as to what you will answer. The question is "if you met God, proving He existed would be the last thing on your mind, why?"

What I want people to focus on is the fact that there is obviously something more to God than proving He exists. But obviously, you can take the conversation where you want.

If you met God, why would you not immediately insist He prove He is God?

Given that all we have about people falling on their faces in the presence of God are stories that a certain kind of people tells, this explanation leaves a lot to be desired.

It also opens the way to some rather weird conclusions about people who claim to have a "personal relationship" with God.

Because I wouldn´t know He´s God?

Yes, one would expect so.

If you met God, why would you not immediately insist He prove He is God?
I am still not quite sure about what exactly the hypothetical situation is supposed to be.
Is it:
- "If you met someone who introduces herself as God..."
or
- "If you met someone you know is God..."
or?

I would likely make that test a high priority. I would hate to be given a divine order to kill someone, and then discover that my next door neighbor Frank had put on white robes and a white beard and was playing a prank on me. Boy, would there be egg on my face!

Actually, it turns out my good friend is God. He told me so himself. Cool eh?

And who are we to insist God proves himself?

If you would like to talk to God, he is more than willing to do that for a small fee. He personally informed me that for $10,000 dollars he will meet anyone that wants to talk to him. Let me know if you want to. You will be responsible for all travel expenses, and other expenses you incur.

Of course, if this is too much for you, if you don't have enough faith, well, we all know what happens to unbelievers.

P.S. - For the small fee of $1,000 you can ask him any question you want. Just send a pm to me, and I'll pass the message on, and let you know what he says.

I would expect some sort of demonstration if an entity was claiming to be God.

What makes you think He would claim to be God?

I'm supposing it would try to communicate with me. What are you supposing?

Are you simply assuming that your assertions are true again?

I deny the underlined premise is necessarily true in your hypothetical.
