• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Was 9/11 a blessed day? Its nice that you want to encourage but days filled with disaster aren't a blessing , or felt as such on that particular day.

What about all those lives that were saved in that day and what about all those other children born that day? Isn't the birth of a child a wonderful and amazing blessing even if it happens daily? There is alwayz some sort of light in everything NO MATTER what it is.

Wow... If you only see the evil in the world then no wonder nonbelievers are always pessimistic.

The battles between light and dark are never ending. You see the mass murder of little less of 3000 civilians, but you ignore the heroism that took place on that day. Even on the last plane heading towards Washington, good folks on the plane made the first stand against the terrorists. The fight and brought the plane down in field in Penn state. Saving who knows how many more lives.

We live in world drowning in sin. We few fight against it, and in return will live beyond our fleshly existance. While others live for only themselves.

i'm very unhappy that this encouragement is leaning to debate. instead of debate, which isn't allowed in the recovery forums; you may exsplore what blessings and life mean. however, do not return to post at eachother in disagreements. have your say, and keep the opening post on track:

If you feel down...

Remember this one thing:

Each day you are alive is a blessing whether you feel that way or not, God blesses us each and every day by allowing us to experience life.

Well personally I've had a lot of financial problems over the past year or so, but all in all, just got to wake up, feel the new day and be glad that at lease you are alive!

Well each day is a chance to make better decissions than yesterday. Always learn little more and help more people with each new day.

Opposite can happen, but that is the point of this thread. That each day is a chance to change all that.

Each day is a blessing. I have had a huge plate of dysfunction fed to me and I won't think about life in any other terms now.

Had God not blessed me with each day, I would not be saved. Had God not given me more days, I could have perished un-saved and my soul given to Satan. Each day is a blessing , its what you CHOOSE to do with it.
Tomorrow you , me or someone else may say or do something that causes me a blessing. I also believe that "blessings" are not always sugar coated like many want to think. Yes perceived "bad" things can be a blessing. There is a lesson in everything.

Thank you for the inspiration, posting this made me think and type something I hadn't thought of, what a blessing :)
