Dude...do you even KNOW the history of Roe v. Wade? Decided by the SCOTUS in 1973...who was president and what party? What part has held the White house for 23 of the last 40 years since that decision?

Get off the abortion trip. It's legal. It will stay legal.

I have studied numerous things and taught numerous things over my many years on earth. I have written and taught many bible studies for children and women. I also did a study on "abortion" in old testament times. Opposition to abortion is a fairly recent thing. According to the Talmud, an unborn child is not considered alive until it draws its first breath. There are penalties for those who would harm a pregnant woman but NOTHING about a woman choosing to terminate a pregnancy.

According to you...I should have stood by and watched one of my daughters die due to an ectopic pregnancy. It was sad, it was tragic, it was hard for her and all of us. BUT...it was necessary. I am not "pro-choice" by any stretch of the imagination, however, I refuse to be a one-trick pony on this matter. IF it is going to be done, I would prefer to see it legal, done in a clean, sanitary manner by properly trained medical personnel instead of a back room butcher. Outlawing anything, including abortion is not going to stop it. The "War on Drugs"? Nope, didn't work. Prohibition? Nope, that neither. The way to change things is through people's minds and hearts, not the strident "bible-thumping" that many choose to do instead. Beating people over the head is not going to work.

Regarding IBLP...there is much good there. Many good answers. However, I am not a stepford follower of any man. I take what works, I take the good and jettison the bad. It's called discernment.

The Talmud is NOT God's official Word... it is nothing more than observations and traditions of the Jewish guys from back in the day.

God said in Proverbs that He hates the shedding of innocent blood... sorry to hear about your daughter but God could have healed that situation and the baby could be with you today.

But, the Bible does not teach it is the unpardonable sin, so forgiveness is available and we should move on... in our opposition to abortion which for most people is murdering a baby on the alter of convenience... cause they just don't want a kid!

We prayed, begged and pleaded...but...they drained about a PINT of blood from her abdominal cavity. The tube had burst. She would have DIED and left her 4 other children motherless. She was about 5 weeks pregnant.

And...if abortion is not the "unpardonable sin", why fight so hard against it? Why not fight for making sure that women learn family planning, have access to contraception if they want it, help to carry the pregnancy, help to raise the child if they are economically unable to? Abortion will go away when already born children are valued. The left sees children as a burden. The right sees the unborn child as something to be preserved at all costs, but once it takes a breath on its own, it's on its own. They do not want to assure that child has all its basic needs met.

Quite a conundrum here. Both sides are out of line. Both sides need to change their views. Neither one is right.
