If there is a God, who is his spoke person?

With so many different religions, dead and still breathing. And with all their off shoots. Who has the right message?

Maybe there is a supreme being who created the Universe, or came to Earth and tampered with it in some way to start the process of single cell beings or later to make a branch of the Ape family more intelligent. No one knows that, even with all the research.

Those who knew a lot less decided they would tell the people they do know, and if you did as they told you. You would get your reward, not here you had to wait for the next life.

And that's the message most religions sell. A powerful group of leaders telling followers to do as told and wait for their reward in the after life. While the leaders enjoy their rewards here. Because they knew what God wants. So do they?

Did God want the Israelites to commit genocide. Did he want the Muslims to rise up and kill others. Did he want the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the list goes on to today. When men are claiming they know what God wants and it's to kill the people who also claim to know what God wants. It's just a little different to the other group.

Even the Bible was compiled who claimed to know what God wants, Old and New Testaments were political acts to keep a people united.

If there is a God, in my opinion he's pretty fallible or doesn't care.

God can be understood as Truth. Then a spoke person is a person of truth, like Jesus Christ.

Have you spoken the Jesus recently. Or speaking for him?

And there's the problem. So many claim to know what he wants, who never met him, never lived in his time and even to the point of destroying gospels that were written by people who knew and followed him.

It is pointless to converse with those who are only interested in self adulation.

Agreed. Religions are often about self adulation or adulation by the masses.

My problem is not in believing there is a God or creator. It's all the people who claim to speak for him who were clearly speaking for themselves. Even down to todays spokespersons. The evangelical TV preachers are the worse, which one of them can claim to follow Jesus, when they clearly don't. And want wealth, some even promise wealth if, you olny believe in them, follow their teachings, and send money.

There isn't, but if there were, it wouldn't need a spokesperson.

that is why many of us use something written called the Bible.
It has been around unchanged for thousands of years.
those that claim to represent God are measured by that book.
Which book has remained unchanged for thousands of years?

I am not clear here. Do you want me to name all 66 books of the Bible?
if you question this, simply compare the dead sea scrolls with modern writings.
My post was highlighting the fact that it has not always been "66" books of the Bible - and still isn't (compare the Catholic, Orthodox, Ethiopian, etc. Bible canons)

My experience in these forums has shown me that there is no position, however contradictory to another, that cannot be in some way supported by the Bible.

Actually the bible has been changed, mis-interpreted and twisted a lot.

As you say it was written. By Men. Women weren't allowed to have a voice unless it was a voice the men liked.

Davian is right, if you cherry pick the Bible it can fit most things. Except the truth in a few places. Mostly the Old Testament. And parts like Revelations.
