we can say the same for any sinNo, if you kill yourself it means that you have lost your faith and therefore your salvation!
which comes right back to the point I made in the previous post...let's say you are a Christian, live an obedient life by the worlds standards, by God's standards, you are faithful to seek forgiveness every time you sin...one day, you slip, and you tell a juicy bit of gossip you heard, before you get a chance to repent, you have a massive heart attack and die...do you loose your salvation? What makes them different? Hint: Nothing...we will be judged, but on the condition of our heart, not on the deeds we have done, because our circumcision is of the heart not the flesh....Well you can always repent of most any sin you have committed except for the case of suicide.
amen...I am crucified with Christ never the less I live, yet not I but Christ liveth in me....words of PaulI was at the point where I was going to kill myself. I couldn't do it, yet I couldn't not do it, so I made a compromise. I decided to live just for God and for helping others. I killed the ego and gave myself to the lord, and you know what, I felt more born again then ever.
Repent means to change your mind, obviously you can't do that after you've died. Suicide is murder. We live and we live onto the lord, we belong to the lord, especially if we are believers since he paid the price for us.
and Jesus would never tell you it was worldly sorrow, instead He would grieve with you...as will I, I am so grieved for your loss...in our own pain, we feel like our hearts a breaking, like our insides have been scooped out, if you need anything, let me know.My own father took his life, and my grandmother died shortly after. It plunged my whole life into deep sorrow and despair, and if Christ appears to me and told me it was "wordly sorrow" I swear to God I would crucify him all over again. Ya know, have some compassion. That's how I felt for about 13 years.
Psalm 119:19 I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.But when you give your life to the Lord, there comes all the fruit of the spirit. To stop doing what we want to do and start doing what God's wants us to do brings joy, not inconvenience. Of course trying to know what God wants us to do in this age is a challenge onto itself. For 13 years I plead with him to work with me, but no, I'm just expected to read a book suitable for life 100-2000 years, alas, I could not reconcile the bible with the modern world.
The intent is based on what goes on in thier which they control most of. If the Light of the world is in them being christ they should not be in darkness unless they neglect the light. I just think to say suicide is not going to keep one from salvation is dangerous. Seeing how i believe that one can fall from grace and lose their salvation this might effect my view of this subject. the blasphing of the SPirit i think could be suicide. Or total neglect of the SPirit so that darkness overtakes us.sure there are consequences for our actions even after being forgiven.
you really need to understand something about a person intent upon ending it all ; they are not thinking straight , they are not in their right mind , they are consumed by something so dark that escape seems the only answer ..... so simple questions do not help answer the question because you are not dealing with a regular scenario.
No, if you kill yourself it means that you have lost your faith and therefore your salvation!
what does that mean in relation to the OP question? I find scripture to be pretty clear that we are not to judge anothers salvation. If this is true, how can we judge them in death? This whole subject reminds me of the apocryphal story about the actor, W. C. Fields, who, when on his deathbed was found reading the Bible one day. During his life he was not a religious man by any stretch of the imagination. When he was asked why he was reading a Bible, his reply was, " I'm looking for loopholes...."
I daresay, he found none.....
can you find that in scripture....? Where in scripture does it say that murder is an unforgivable sin? Would that include accidental deaths, as in drunk driving? How about self defense? Or soldiers? Are they all going to hell for the same sin of murder? What does scripture say?I was taught you go to hell because murder is a horrible sin and you cannot repent for it (Judas).
Well if that's the case! Moses, and David, and Paul won't be in heaven either! And the crimes that David, and Paul committed were as heinous,as evil as they come! Yet GOD still considered David a man after His own heart, and Paul He made the greatest of all the Apostles who had done the most evil! All i can say is(((HALLELUJAH)))!!!I was taught you go to hell because murder is a horrible sin and you cannot repent for it (Judas).
I was taught you go to hell because murder is a horrible sin and you cannot repent for it (Judas).
If someone commits suicide and they are saved, will they remain saved? This is a real friend of a family I know, please be kind and not flippant about this. Just trying to get some ideas.
:oRemember: This is a real Family that is really suffering!
This person believed in Jesus already and accepted him as Lord but maybe fell into sin, or depression for some reason or another such as:
Drugs
Mental Illness
Relationships gone bad
Losing a Good Job
Losing everything they had due to the Recession
or
whatever...
Important
:oWill God forgive them for killing themselves and still consider them saved?
Important
:oAre there any real comforting passages from the Holy Word that would help their families out with their grief?
I searched the Forum and did not see this topic yet, forgive me if this topic has already been posted
somewhere, but please pray for this Family (they are real close and enduring much hardship).
Please Quote from the Holy Bible, any translation - need those verses!
Thanks All
