  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If I was Donald Trump, what would I do?

Well for starters, I wouldn't get involved with women outside my marriage - particularly porn stars. But that's not my biggest point here.

If I was Donald Trump, I would emphasize ideas, in the strong tradition of Mark Levin. I would promote freedom - freedom from government's continual involvement in our lives. let the Democrats run against that. I would tell people that's what I'm selling and stick to it. I think he gets in too much trouble with his tweets and shoots his mouth off too much when he could be running on an idea that conservatives and liberals can agree on.

I'd be constantly talking about the failures of socialism. If Alexandria Ocasio Cortez with her big eyeballs wants to run on socialism, I would remind people of Russia. I'd remind them of Venezuela.

I'd do talks but I'd ask people who have the intellectual abilities to speak ahead of me discussing ideas that i agree with. I'd ask Jonah Goldberg to talk about liberal fascism.
I'd ask Thomas Sowell to talk about some of the ideas he presents. I'd ask questions like "when paying taxes, what exactly is the 'fair share' you are supposed to pay" and keep asking it until somebody answers it. I'd ask Hillary that and I"d ask every liberal I meet about it.

well that's it for starters.

Why should the president focus on a freshman congress critter?

You'd have to time travel back a decade or more and talk to the Donald Trump of those days, because his alleged, extra-marital involvements happened back then (not since he's been in the White House, like Kennedy and Clinton).

I would say something similar if I was advising him (as many on both sides of the aisle have done since he became the Republican candidate for President, actually), but he seems determined to stay the course he's set for the simple reason that it's working for him (a fact that he's acknowledged publicly several times).

The problem this will have is that if people have any kind of education they will spot much nonsense.

Such as Russia is socialist.

Or "failures of socialism". Anyone can do quick google and discover that "socialist" countries are better to live in than USA. Including that they are having more freedom.

From The Economist
Top 10 cities of the 2018 ranking:[9][10]
  1. Vienna, Austria
  2. Melbourne, Australia
  3. Osaka, Japan
  4. Calgary, Canada
  5. Sydney, Australia
  6. Vancouver, Canada
  7. Tokyo, Japan
  8. Toronto, Canada
  9. Copenhagen, Denmark
  10. Adelaide, Australia

Here is thing to check: None of those cities are American. Other thing, each and every one of those countries are more "socialist" than USA.

Or you can have the look at Freedom. That is always important topic to Americans. CATO Institute (right wing/libertarian) freedom index:

The top 10 jurisdictions in order were Switzerland, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Ireland, Australia, Finland, Norway, Denmark, and, tied at 9th place, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Selected countries rank as follows: Canada (11), Sweden (13), Germany (16), the United States (17)

USA is all the way down at #17. All those more socialist countries are ahead.

I will give you the challenge. See if you can find the measure by which the USA is ahead of socialist countries. Of course if you are very rich like Trump and have just given yourself millions of dollars in tax cuts then I do not think this applies to you.

If you were Donald Trump, then you would have the same Genetics, upbringing, disposition, ect.
So you would do what he's doing.

Or did you mean to ask What would you do if you were in Donald Trump's Position ?

yeah that's what I meant. Was kinda tired when I wrote this. If my consciousness was somehow transported into his body, those are the things I would do.

If I were Donald trump, I'd get immediate psychiatric help in an attempt to control my pathologically narcissistic personality. That could help me lose my attraction to autocratic dictators like Vladimir Putin and Rodrigo Duterte. And maybe I can stifle my impulse to make asinine Twitter comments.

Politically, I'd do what I promised during the campaign regarding health insurance. I'd work with both parties to make sure everyone has coverage. And I'd do what it takes to let Medicare negotiate drug prices with manufacturers.

I'll admit that Mexico will never pay uno centavo for my border wall. But I'm a deal-maker, so that's what I'll do to get it built. If the wall is fully funded, I'll let a bipartisan panel of 5 Democrat and 5 Republican Senators choose candidates for federal judgeships. Whoever 7 members of the panel support, is who I'll nominate. That should make the full Senate confirmation much easier.

So ignore all the data collected by the groups from across the political spectrum because "Louder with Crowder" told you so?

I had to look up who Mark Levin is...apparently the host of a conservative radio talk show? And he not only has a tradition...but a strong tradition?

I would promote freedom - freedom from government's continual involvement in our lives.

Pro-abortion?

let the Democrats run against that. I would tell people that's what I'm selling and stick to it. I think he gets in too much trouble with his tweets and shoots his mouth off too much when he could be running on an idea that conservatives and liberals can agree on.

I don't like his tweets either...but I think he knows where his popularity lies. He wasn't voted on because he's qualified, intelligent, capable, or really any of the usual reasons someone gets the nomination. He was popular with outsiders and those sick of US politics in general. He has to continually portray himself as such if he wants to keep his audience...if he ever gets mistaken for "just another US president" he's doomed.

I'd be constantly talking about the failures of socialism. If Alexandria Ocasio Cortez with her big eyeballs wants to run on socialism, I would remind people of Russia. I'd remind them of Venezuela.

And just ignore the places that are socialist nations that are doing better than us?

I'd do talks but I'd ask people who have the intellectual abilities to speak ahead of me discussing ideas that i agree with. I'd ask Jonah Goldberg to talk about liberal fascism.

So you'd let experts speak on your behalf...but you'd demand expert answers from people broadly generalizing their position on taxes?

If I were Donald Trump, I'd resign. I'd not make any excuses...I'd simply explain that perceptions about being president are far different from the reality and that I realized I'm not equipped to deal with the duties of the office. I would say that I'm sorry to my supporters, but as my duty is first to the American people, I am putting too much at risk for the sake of my pride and setting a dangerous precedent for later presidents.

I would then humbly ask for the justice department to end its investigation.

Thomas J. DiLorenzo's book

So, a Libertarian opinion magazine, a far right conservative commentator/comedian (and occasional wild conspiracy theorist), and an Austrian school economics professor.

Not, I suspect, the best sources to produce a balanced picture of modern socialism.

Particularly of democratic socialism - which is distinct from earlier incarnations practiced in developing states, and bears little, if any, resemblance to the strawman that Crowder set up in his little video.

What I would do as Donald Trump? Well, I would immediately declare a State of Emergency for the entire United States and enforce Martial Law. I would abolish the Posse Comitatus Act thus allowing the military to police our streets without reservation and enforce the “law” as I see fit. I would outlaw all political parties that are against the Republican Party and declare the former members of said parties as enemies of the state and have them registered as non-citizen residents, unable to vote and all firearms owned by them will be confiscated. Anyone of these undesirables will be free to leave the country after paying a $50,000.00 fee and be able to take with them one suitcase of clothing. Any of their property or bank accounts will become property of the state to be distributed amongst my loyal supporters. Their children over eight will remain as wards of the State and be sent to reeducation camps to turn them into loyal Americans and reinforce the disloyalty of their former parents. The reeducation of the children will occur if the parents stay or leave. The first Church to raise $100 billion dollars for my personal use will be named the official religion of the State and be allowed to deal with other religion or denominations as they see fit. Any of my loyal base that is unemployed will be made into an armed paramilitary origination that will have authority over the military. All military members must swear a loyalty oath to me. All units will have a Party loyalty officer to enforce loyalty to me, the Party and the State. Anyone that opposes me will have their citizenship striped and be imprisoned indefinitely without trial. The sham courts that just convicted my former colleagues will be declared null and void and lose their citizenship and be deported. My former colleagues that turned on me will be given a chance to publicly declare their love and loyalty to me and admit that they were tricked by promises from the Deep State or be publicly executed on live TV during Prime Time to increase my Ratings. Powerful enemies like Hillary, Soros, Bernie and the such will be placed under house arrest “for their protection” and then just disappear. Due to the State of Emergency I would ask for help from President Putin to assist in restoring order.

Or I would just start looking for countries that do not have an extradition treaty with the US and plan a state visit there soon.

If I was Donald Trump, what would I do?

I would first of all apologize to the Mc Cain family for saying that John was not a war hero.

Repent for taking God's name in vane.
I heard that the other day -- broke my heart.

Seek and study the Bible with a good solid Pastor.

Pray to lead our Country in a Godly way.

Beg God for mercy -- as we all should.
