God has a place in one's life, if something is put in the place where God should be, that is an idol.Anyone want to discuss the answers to the question what is idolatry?
Jesus is the voice of God made flesh, the Holy Spirit has a special role in our lives as believers. If a love of the written text replaces the guiding role of the Holy Spirit, it is idolatry.Who's job is it to take care of people?
I think that the US Constitution is a fairly good draft document that sort of outlines governments responsibility to man from a Protestant perspective.
From a Biblical perspective it seems quite perfectly done. I certainly couldn't imagine doing it any better.
All my life voting and laws was about doing what was right by tax paying citizens.
You know, whether it was keeping the streets safe and murderer free for the well-being of the people there all of it was about caring for the people.
Is it an idol if we love that law?
Or if we love life under that law?

The scripture also has a role, but we really shouldn't drive a car on the same road as an air plane, that's dangerous.

Our Creator demands our supreme devotion, our first allegiance. Anything which tends to threaten our love for God, or to interfere with the service due Him, becomes thereby an idol.Anyone want to discuss the answers to the question what is idolatry?
