Idle Words

The bible speaks of empty/idle words...that we would account for every careless/idle/empty word we say, on the day of judgement.

I am asking for help from y'all to show me to all the idle words you know of in this our present age, so i could keep away from saying such.

some of which i think but i am not sure of are:
-[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]
-shii / [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]
-[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]
-ass
-[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]
-[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]

Thanks guys...

I am laughing at how your post turned out... it converted to lots of idle words.

One way to look at it -- and there are a few -- is that time is short, and opportunities to speak with a person are not as often as they seem. When we run into an old friend, are we comparing cars and clothing-- or asking about more important things, like talking about family surgeries and managing stress at work.

On a higher plane, are we following Jesus' Great Commission, or owning our own lives? Are we reminding people of God's ability to rescue in a situation, or complaining with them. Are we offering prayer as we stand and talk... referring to Bible verses that pertain to situations. Are we uplifting or tearing down. Discipling others.

Singing spiritual songs together, meditating on His Word.

Idle could mean other things too -- like standing around saying, "I don't know what I want to do-- what do you want to do?" Maybe that's not common in Nigeria, but here in the US people base some of their decisions on what they feel like doing -- which is usually not productive. Pampering oneself.

Then at the end of watching movies, playing games, etc... it comes out that someone really needed help moving furniture, with babysitting, taking their car to the shop, visiting their grandmother... but they put their recreation first.

ehh, dont worry about silly stuff,
just help your brothers & sisters every chance you get!

I agree! Sometimes we focus on creating all of these little rules for ourselves, but that really doesn't gain us anything.

Instead focus on putting Christ and His Kingdom as #1. Trust that the Holy Spirit will convict you when something needs to change.
