Can one agree or disagree with ideas without agreeing or disagreeing with people?

If so, is it important to agree or disagree with ideas or people.

To date, I am left to believe that I can and do agree or disagree with ideas not people.

It seems to me that agreeing with people and not ideas can be even more dangerous than disagreeing with people and not ideas.

I do that all the time as well. I agree with the ideas of liberals but dont like the blanket statements that a lot of liberals like to use about people who disagree with them. I also dont like the (in my opinion) indecent spectacls that "Gay Pride Parades" have turned into. On the other side, I dont like the blanket statements that a lot of conservatives like to use about people who disagree with them (where have I heard that before?) I am mostly pro-life (with the exception of rape, incest, and severe danger to health of mother) but dont agree with showing the disgusting pictures that some want to show nor do I agree with shaming or attacking the women who have it done or the doctors who perform them.

It is my experience that many people confuse the force of an idea with the idea of force.

Contrary to popular opinion, ideas cannot be "shoved down throats".

Exactly. It hurts my heart to see people disagree with some things that I feel strongly about. To discount my life experience with "It is wrong and can be fixed," statements. However, when people show they understand, tell me that they think it is wrong but leave it between me and God in a kind manner. I feel loved and it warms my heart.

Gay people are, in my experience, more apt to agree or disagree with an idea than a person.
They are on average, in my experience, the most agreeable people with whom I disagree with the most.

I can agree with that but I think sometimes the idea almost becomes a person and all reason goes out the window in supporting it. Sometimes I feel very alone out here in the wilderness.

My understandings have changed so much that one of the things I'm most convinced of is that they will continue to change.

I'm married to Denise not my current understandings. Can't get too attached to passing thoughts. Don't forget we are, all of creation is, a process.
